No.174,718. I Patented March 14, 1876.

UNITED STATEs PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES F. GHEESMAN, OF SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS.
IMPROVEMENT IN PIANO-PEDAL ATTACHMENTS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. [74,718, dated March 14, 1876; application filed January 22, 1876.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, OHARLEs F. OEEEs- MAN, of San Antonio, BeXar county, Texas, have invented a new and Improved Pedal Attachment, of which the following is a specification:'
My invention consists of a stool with footlevers and connecting-wires, so constructed that it can be applied to pianos, for the use of children not large enough to Work the ordinary pedals, merely by hooking the stool t0 the ordinary pedal-support and setting the connecting-rods in little sockets in the pianopedals, thus makinga very simple contrivance to make and use.
Figure 1 is a front elevation of my improved pedal attachment, and Fig. 2 is a sectional elevation taken on line 00 00.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
A represents the ordinary pedals, arranged as usual on the support 13/ (J is the stool of the attachment, on which I mount the pedals D, having a rod, E, extending downward suitably to connect with pedals A by merely setting the end in a little socket, which I make in the top for the purpose, and Fis a hook by which to connect the stool to the treadle-snpport B, so as to keep the treadles in connection.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Pat ent-- In a pedal-stool for pianos, having the treadle D and connecting-rods E, the hook F, adapted to secure said stool to the pedal-harp B, as specified.
CHARLES FREDERICK CHEESMAN.
