A device for spreading curtains, com-` prising a supporting plate, movable .members on the supporting plate, a pair of arms mounted on the movablemembersandengaging the curtains, a pinion for operating Vthe movable members, an arm on thepinion, and a flexible member connected With the arm for operating thevlarm to rotateY the pinion to move the first mentioned arms.
