It is one object of the invention to provide a simple and effective tooth brush holder and fumigator in which a single opening in a main container allows complete insertion and removal of brushes and also gives access to the upper end of a relatively small container for a fumigating agent, for the purpose of replenishing this agent from time to time, said opening being normally closed by a removo able cover which prevents excessive escape of fumes from said main container.

A further object is to provide a device of this class which may be constructed entirely of glass and hence kept in an unusually sanitary condition.

With the foregoing in view, the invention resides in the novel subject matter hereinafter described and claimed, description being accomplished by reference to the accompanying drawing.

The preferred form of construction has been illustrated and while this construction will be herein specifically explained, it is to be understood that within the scope of the invention, variations may be made.

The numeral 4 denotes a vertically elongated container preferably of substantially pear-shape in front elevation but relatively flat in horizontal section, the lower restricted end of the container being formed with an opening 5 through which any drip which may take place from the brushes, may drain. The upper end of the container is formed with a relatively large opening 6 in the na ture of a slot, this opening being normally closed by a suitable plug 7. Preferably, both this plug and the container 4 are formed of glass and a ground oint is provided between them.

Cast integrally with the back wall 8 of container 4 are a number o-f brush-suspending hooks or the like 9 and said wall is also provided with an opening 10 to receive a supporting hook, nail or the like. with said hooks or removed therefrom as occasion may demand.

Mounted within the container 4, is a vertically elongated auxiliary container 11 for gauze or other absorbent 12 to be saturated 55 with a germ-destroying' and fumigating liquid, the `verticalwall of this container 11 being provided with perforations 13 through which fumes may escape from the saturated absorbent to permeate between the brush bristles and effectively perform their duty.

By preference, the auxiliary container 11 is integral with the back wall 8 of the container 4, and a suitable plug 14 is providedfor the upper end of said container 11, readily accessible when the plug 7 is removed.

By the novel construction shown and described, or an equivalent thereof, a device is provided which is of extreme simplicity, may be inexpensively manufactured and will serve not only to protect the toothbrushes against dust and the like, but to effectively destroy any germs which may be upon them.

I claim A tooth brush holder and fumigator comprising a main container of greater height than the length of a tooth brush to entirely receive the latter, said container having an opening in its top, a relatively small Vvertic cally elongated container for a fumigating agent, said relatively small container being fixedly mounted within the main Container in spaced relation with the vertical wall of the latter, leaving brush-receiving spaces between the two containers, said relatively small container being spaced from the wall of said opening to allow tooth brushes to be inserted and removed through said opening Y and having its upper end disposed under said opening to allow the pouring of a fumigating agent through said opening into vthe upper end of said relatively small container, and a removable closure for said opening.
