Description
March 18, 1930. J. c. VALLEBUONA HOLDER FOR DISINFEGTANTS, DEODORANTS, ANDTHE LIKE Filed Jan. 12, 1927 ATTORNEY VENTOR 4 Patented Mar. 18, 1930 "OFFICE i JULIUS C. VALLEBUONA, F ATLANTA, GEORGIA, ASSIGNOR 0F FIFTY PER GENT TO LEO LOEB, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
HOLDER FOR DISINFECTAN'IS, DEODOR-ANTS, AND THE LIKE Application filed January 12, 1927. Serial No. 160,536.
This invention relates to holders for disinfectants, deodorants and the like. These holders usually are perforated in order to permit the fumes from the disinfecting or deodorizing material to escape into the atmosphere. The disinfecting or deodorizing material usually contains oil which gradually runs out and collects in the bottom of the holder, and will, after enough has collected, run out of the perforations, thus dripping onto the floor or Wall and causing the di colorization thereof.
An object of this invention is a holder equipped with a removable receptacle to catch the oil as it drips out, whereby the abovenoted objectionable feature of the previous holders is overcome.
According to this invention, a drip hole is provided in the bottom of the holder and there is supported directly beneath the hole a slidable drawer. As the oil runs out of the deodorant or disinfectant, it drips through the hole into the drawer which, when it becomes full, may be taken out and the oil thrown into any suitable drain pipe.
Other objects, novel features and advantages of this invention will be apparent from the following specification and accompanying drawings wherein Figure 1 is a perspective view of a disinfectant holder embodying the invention;
Fig. 2 is a section on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1;
Fig. 3 is a section on the line 33 of Fig. 2; and
Fig. 4: is asection on the line l of Fig. 3.
The device comprises a plate which may be attached to a wall or other support in any suitable manner and a container or cage 11, the side walls of which are perforated as at 12. The cage 11, which may be of any suitable shape, is supported from the plate 10 in any suitable manner such that a disinfectant may be easily placed therein. In this instance, cage 11 is shown as being hinged as 2' at 13 to the plate 10, although it might equally well be slidably connected thereto. The bottom of the container slopes downwardly to ward its center where there is provided a hole 14:.
Below the container 11 is supported from the plate 10 a boX 15 having an open top and the cross section of which conforms to that of the container 11. Within the box 15 and directly below the hole 14 is supported a drawer 16 having a knob 17.
When used, this device is supported upon a wall or other structure by attaching the plate 10 thereto and the cage 11 is swung open as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 4. A suitable disinfectant or deodorant is placed therein and the container closed against the plate 10.
' The fumes from the deodorant or disinfectant escape to the atmosphere through the perforations 12. Any oil escaping from the disinfectant or deodorant drips through the hole 14 into the box 16 which may be emp tied whenever it becomes full. WVith this clevice, the oil from the disinfectant or deodorant is prevented from dropping onto the floor or the wall of the room in which the device is mounted, thereby preventing soiling or discoloring the floor or walls.
I claim 1. A device of the character described comprising a holder for disinfectant and the like, said holder having provision for free escape of fumes therefrom and having an aperture in the bottom thereof and a removable receptacle arranged below said aperture to collect liquid dripping from said holder through said aperture.
2. A device of the character described comprising a holder for disinfectant and the like, said holder having of fumes therefrom and having an aperture in the bottom thereof and a slidable receptacle arranged below said aperture .to collect liquid dripping from said holder through said aperture.
3. A device of the character described comprising a plate, a cage attached thereto and forming a holder therewith, said cage having a perforated lateral wall and a single aperture in the bottom thereof, a box supported from said plate below said holder and a drawer mounted in said box in alignment with said aperture to collect liquid dripping therethrough.
4:. A device of the character describedcomprising a plate, a container hinged thereto provision for free escape and forming therewith a holder for disinfectant, said container having an aperture through the bottom thereof, a
receptacle removably supported by said plate below the aperture in the bottom In testimony whereof, I
name to this specification.
JULIUS C. VALL of said. container.
have signed my EBUONA.
