Description

Dec. 31, 1929. R, cogs 1,742,078
ATTACHMENT FOR CREAM SEPARATORS Filed May 1928 iced INVENTOR wnwzss: TTORNEY Patented Dec. 31, 1929 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE ATTACHMENT FOR CREAM SEPARATORS Application filed May 4., 1928. Serial No. 275,209.
This invention relates to a strainer holder for a cream separator, the general object of the invention being to provide a ring for holding the strainer, with legs on the ring for holding the same above the bowl of the separator, the legs having hookshaped outer ends for engaging the rim of the bowl and said legs being adjustable as to their length so that the device can be placed on bowls of different sizes.
This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like or corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure l is a view showing the invention in use for holding a strainer above the bowl of a separator.
Figure 2 is a plan view of the holder.
Figure 3 is a sectional view through a part thereof.
In these views, the numeral 1 indicates a ring of the holder and 2 indicates the legs 0 which have their inner ends suitably fastened to the ring. The drawing shows the ends of the legs bent at rightangles and soldered or otherwise fastened to the ring. Each leg is composed of two sections 3 and 4, the section 3 being fastened to the ring and having an eye 5 formed at its outer end for slidingly receiving the section 4:. The inner end of the section 4: is formed with a spring tongue 6 for engaging any one of a plurality of holes 7 formed in the section 3 so as to hold the section 4: in adjusted position in relation to the section 8. The outer end of the section 4 is looped to form the hook 8 which is adapted to engage the rim of the bowl A of a separator.
Thus it will be seen that the holder can have its legs adjusted lengthwise to fit diiferent sizes of bowls and to place the strainer B, which is held by the ring, in any desired 59 position relative to the bowl.
It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of my'invention will be readily apparent.
It is to be understood that I may make changes in the construction and in the comlei-nation and arrangement of the several parts, provided that such changes fall within the scope of the appended claim.
What I claim is A strainer holder comprising a ring-shaped 0 body, legs connected with the body and extending downwardly at an angle, each leg consisting of two sections, the inner section being connected with the body and having an eye at its outer end and a plurality of holes 5 therein, the outer section sliding through the eye and having a spring tongue at its inner end for engaging any one of the holes, whereby the leg can be adjusted as to its length and a double hook formed at the outer end 7 of each outer section.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
REED JACOBS.
