IMPROVEMENT IN MOCCASINS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 174,077, dated February 29, 1876; application filed.
December 30, 1875.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, SETH T. HU'rcHINs, of Anson, in the county of Somerset, State of Maine, have invented a' certain new and suseful Improvement in Boots and Shoes, of which the following is a description sufficiently full, clear, and exact to enable any person skilled in the art or science to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming a part of this specification, in which Figure l is a side elevation of the upper.
My invention relates. principally, to that class of boots and shoes known as moccasins,
and consists in a novel construction and an rangement of the parts, as hereinafter more fully set forth and claimed, by which a simpler, cheaper, and more effective device of this character is produced than is now in ordinary use.
The nature and operation of my invention will be readily obvious to all conversant with such matters from the lollowing description.
In the drawing, A represents the quarters and 1eg,,which are cut integral and united by a single scam in front at B. The Vamps D are also integral or cut in one piece, and united to the leg by a series of metallic hose or belt rivets, G, provided with the Washers F.

Having thus explained my invention, what-- I claim is The boot-pac composed of the rectangular piece of leather, A, forming the quarters and leg, united by the seam B, in combination with the vamp D, made in one piece, and having its curved rear ends lapped over the corners of the leg on the line 0 w y, and the edge riveted as set forth.
