This invention relates to medical pessaries for the relief and cure of leucorrhea and other inflammatory conditions of the vagina, uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries, and other at similar ailnients.
In the improved pessery constructed in accordance with the present invention, the letion is contained in a soluble gelatine or other similar core of conical or ovoid form 101 which is carried within a container of sponge or similar material which extends up to near the top of the gelatine core.
In the preferred form of pessary constructed in accordance with the invention the lotion-cout-aining core resembles an acorn and the container the cup except that the container extends beyond the height to which the cup of the acorn normally reaches. The top surface of the container may either be plane or undulating.
Suitable means such as a ribbon or the like are preferably secured to the container to facilitate withdrawal of the pessary.
Referring now to the accompanying drawing -which illustrates apreferred form of medical pessary formed in accordance with he present invention, a. lotion-containing core a of soluble glycerine or similar material is housed within a container 6 of sponge or similar absorbent material which fits over the core but does not extend to the top thereof.
In order to facilitate Withdrawal, a ribbon c is preferably attached to the container and is provided at its free end with a bone, rubher or other suitable ring 6!.
I claim l. A medical pessary comprising in combination a lotion-containing soluble core and an absorbent container which encloses the lower portion of the core. 7
2. A medical pessary comprising in. combination a lotion-containing soluble core and an absorbent container which encloses the core up to near the top thereof.
3. A medical. pessery comprising in combination a lotion-containing soluble core of void form and an absorbent container which encloses the lower portion of the core.
4;. A medical pessary comprising in combination a lotion-containing solublecore and a sponge container which encloses the lower portion of the container and allows the top of said container to project.
