Obstetric and uterine appliances; pessaries.-A laminaria pencil is made of curved formation, preferably such as to conform to the shape of the genital canal, and is tapered at its leading end to facilitate introduction into the cervix. The Figure shows a curved pencil a sealed in a curved glass containing tube b and provided with a cord d to facilitate its removal. A piece of cotton wool e or the like prevents the pencil from moving in the tube.
