IMPROVEMENT IN WOOL DUSTERS.

This invention relates to a certain improvement in wool dusting-brushes and it consists of a handle having a series of cylindrical steps, each succeeding one being shorter than the one next below, to' which is attached the wool-skin with wool on, in sections, adapted in length to the varying lengths of the steps; and of the combination with the said steps of sections of wool-skin with wool on, overlapping each other, substantially as hereinafter more fully set forth.

In .the annexed drawing, A refers to the handle of the duster, formed with an enlargement, A", having a series of cylindrical steps,

The object of this construction is to permit of the attachment to the handle of the wool skin with wool on, in sections B B B, varying in length, the lower section being thelongest, each succeeding one from there up lessening in length, by which the wool is shortened in receding from the lower end of the handle, to concentrate the bulk of the wool at and below the said end of the handle, and add symmetry to its shape. The sections of woolskin B B B, with wool on, are so attached to the steps a no as to overlap each other, by which the wool is caused to lie down closely and compactly, increasing its efi'eciveness, rendering it more durable. As by this arrangement the strips may be narrower at the top than at the bottom step, a more economic arrangement may be made of the best pieces, or those having the richest fleece.

I do not herein claim, broadly, astepped handle, in combination with sections of woolskin with wool on, as such is the subject-mat ter of an application in interference.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent,

1. The handle A, having a series of cylindrical steps,'a a a, each succeeding one being shorter-than the one next below, in combina-' tion with the sections of wool-ski'n B B B, with wool on, substantially as and for the purpose sct forth.

2. The handle A, having a series of cylindrical steps, can, in combination with the overlapping sections of wool-skin B B B, with wool on, substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
