This invention relates to devices for light! ing the burners of a gas stove, and more particularly to a pilot light which is kept burning for the purpose of lighting the gas whenever it is turned on.
It is an object of my invention toprovide a ,pilot light which is simple in structure and reliable in operation.
It is another object of my invention to provide an individual pilot light for each of the gas burners which is automatically controlled by the turning of the valve handle for each of the burners whereupon the pilot light is jetted outwardly into the burner.
The pilot light is so positioned that it will light the gas whenever it is turned on, either by accident or otherwise.
Other objects and advantages will appearfrom the detailed description whi'chfollows taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawing. i

The lever 17 is substantially S-shaped and is attached to or adapted to contact with the handle 22 of the spring urged closure 14 at its extremity 23. The relation between the spring 16,

The feed pipes 12 are-each provided with a small upright pipe 20 having a tapered end with'openings therein to form tlie'pilot light. The upper extremity of the tapered end is provided with a guard 21 which resembles an inverted saucer.

The invention having been set forth, what is claimed as new and usefulis:-
A gas stovehaving in combination gas burners, branch supply pipes therefor, a main supplypipe, an individual pilot light for each gas burner, a substantially parallel feed 3 pipe for said pilot llghts, said 1n lvidual pilot lights being positioned centrally of said gas burners, a guard 'on each, of said pilot lights to protect it against liquids, said feed pipes ipeconnected to said main supply being providedwith a spring urged control means for each pilot light, control means for each pilot light, said gas burners having ranch' feed pipes on said arallel feed each an individual valve cock provided with a handle, a substantially S-shaped'means contacting said spring urged control means and passing under 7 said handle, said S-shaped means being so ositioned that it is adapted to be iepressed y the turning of said handle.
