This invention relates to improvements in toilet or vanity cases particularly adapted, though not necessarily limited in'its use, for attachment to the outsidefof a purse or hand bag where it willbe Convenient and readily accessible, thereby not only obviating the necessity of opening the bag when the case is to be used, but also the necessity of placing the case within the bag where it will become marred 01' where wit will often open to spill some of the contents thereof within the bag.

A further object is to provide an improved vanity case of this characterembodying two sectionshingedly connected together, one of the sections having a flap or member hinged to the free edge thereof and adapted tobe folded; between the case sect ons as a closure for one of the sections and as a protector for the con tents of the other section, the said flap being adapted to be unfolded outwardly to form a protecting shield to protect the garments of the user when the case is open and is in use.

To theattainment-of these'ends and the accomplishment of other new and useful ob jects as will appear, the invention consists in the features of novelty in substantially the construction, combination and arrangement of the several parts hereinafterinore fully described and claimed and shown in the accompanying drawings illustrating this inven tion, and in which Figure 1 is a perspective view of a hand bag having applied to the outside thereof a case of this character constructed in accord I ance with the principles of this invention.

Referring more particularly to the drawings the numerals and 11 indicate two sections of a case which may be of any desired size and configuration and constructed of any suitable material, preferably metal. The case is adaptedto be secured to the outside of a hand bag or purse 26, and any suitable means may be providedto accomplish that end. A simple and efficient means embodies a flange 27 which extends about the edge of one of the sections, preferably the section 10, and is provided with apertures 28 by means ofwhich. the device may be secured by suitable fastening devices 29 or stitches to the outer faced the bag.
