In the form shown, the improved cleaning device comprises a receptacle 1, mounted on a handle 2, and having attached thereto a moistening member 3 and a squeegee i.
The receptacle 1 is preferably a sheet metal stamping formed to provide a reservoir for the water or other cleaning fluid.
Formed in the top of the receptacle 1, is a 'liller opening 5 having a peripheral flange 6, to which is threaded. a on 'l' having an air vent 8.
Secured to the bottom of the receptacle 1,
is aicrrule 9 providing a threaded socket for the handle 2.
Formed in one side of the receptaclel, is an outlet opening 10 in which the moistcning mel'nber 3 seated. The edges of the re ceptacle 1, adjacent the opening 10, are bent outwardly to provide a pair of substantially parallel spaced flanges ll forming bearing portions 12 adapted to grip the moistening member 3.
Portions of the fieno cs 11 are oilset to provide a plurality oi. ducts 13 adapted to con duct the fluid from the reservoir to the sides of the member 3. lhe ducts 13 are spaced apart at regular intervals along the outlet 10.
The moistening member 8 may be made of felt or any other suitabl absorbent material and is held in the outlet opening 10 by the pr ssure of the bearing portions 12.
Secured to the opposite side of the rcceptacle 1, is a rail i l, on which the squeegee 5 -fl is dctachably mounted. The squeegee 4; may be made of rubber or any other suitable material and is provided with a clip 15 adapted to slide on the rail 14 when the squeegee is attached or removed.
In operation, the reservoir is filled with vater or other liquid poured through the opening 5. The liquid enters the absorbent member 3 through the inner edge of said member and also through the ducts 13. The ducts 13 permit the water to reach the sides of the absorbent member.
After the window has been moistened with the member 3, the device is turned around to permit cleaning with the squeegee at. 70
Although but one specific embodiment of this invention has been herein shown and described, it will be understood thatnumerous details of the construction shown may be altered or omitted without departing from the spirit of this invention as defined by the following claims.
I claim:
1. A cleaning device comprising a sheet metalstamping formed to provide a reservoir having an outlet opening in one side thereof, flanges located on resoectively opposite sides of said outlet to provide bearin surfaces and an absorbent moistcning memoerseated in said outlet between said bearing surfaces, portions of said flanges being offset outwardly away from said absorbent member to pro vide a plurality of parallel ducts for conducting iluidfrom said reservoir to the sides of said n'ioistening member.
2. A cleaning device comprising a" sheet metal stamping formed to provide a reservoir having a filler opening in one side thercoif, a removable cap arranged to close said opening and having a vent therein, a handle secured 5 to the opposite side of said reservoir, a squeegee secured lies-aid reservoir on one side of said handle, said reservoir having an outlet opening located on the opposite side of oilset outwardly away from said moistening said handle, an absorbent moistening member member to provide a plurality of parallel seated in'seid outlet, and a pair of substanducts for conducting fluid from said reser- 10 tially parallel Spaced flanges formed on said VOll to t 1e sides of said moistening member.
