FARE-BOX CLAMP.

The invention is aclamp for readily attaching a change dispenser to a fare box, such as is ordinarily used on street railway systems. i a l The object of the invention is to provide a simple and eif'licient means for holding a change dispenser to a fare box.

Another object of the invention is to pro vide a clamp that may readily be attached to, or made integral with a change dispenser and which will readily hold the change dis-i penser to a fare box. V p i A further object of the invention is to provide a clamp on a change dispenser which will readily operate togrip the members of a fare box and hold the dispenser in place as it is placed thereon.

And a still further object of the invention is to provide a change dispenser clamp by which the dispenser may readily be held to or removed from a fare box.

With these ends in view the invention embodies a clamp comprising two parallel bars, that may be placed at the rear of a change dispenser; movable jaws pivotaily attached to the said bars and a vertically disposed hook for operating the said jaws and holding the device to the top of the fare boii.

in the drawings the device shown as it would be made, wherein numeral 1 indicates through the showing the lower a horizontal bar which. has extensions 2 at the ends that are held to the ends of the change dispenser by bolts 3 as shown in Figure 4. At

the center of the bar 1 is a downwardly ex which pins 16 of the clamps 8 extend. The

bar 13 isprovidedwitha hook 17' at the upper end and is slidably held upon pins 18 and 19 which extend through slots 20 and 21. It will be observed that as the hook 17 is pushed downward the project-ions 15 will move downward and the clamps 8 will move outward, and when the hook is moved upward the slots 14 will draw the pins 16 andthe clamps 8 inward so that the 1100 {S 22 at the ends of the clamps 8 will grip and hold the device to the rods 7, as shown in Figure 1.

It will be understood that changes may be made in the construction without departing from the spirit of the inventiomone of which changesmay be in the exact-design or shape of either of the members, another may be in the use of other means for attaching the clamp to the change dispenser and still another may be in the use, of other means for operating the clamp members The construction will be readily understood from the foregoing description. I To use the device it may be made as shownand attached to the plate at the ends of a change dispenser by the bolts 3 and it will be observed that as it placed upon the tarebox the rods 7 of the fare box will pass between the projections 6. and the hooks 22 and when the dispenser is moved downward with the hook 17 on the upper edge of the fare box the hooks 22 will be drawninward to grip the device around the e rods 7. It will also be observed that when it is desired to remove the device the dispenser may be moved upward and as the hook 17 is pushed downward it will move the hooks 2-2 out *ard and release the dispenser from the fare box. This device may readily be attached to a change dispenser having any suit able number 0' coin tubes as the bar 1 may be made longer or shorter as may be desired.
