IMPROVEMENT IN TOOLS FOR PUTTING BARBS ON W IRE FENCES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 170,354, dated November 23, 1875; application filed October 21, 1875.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM DULIN, of Big Grove, in the county of Pottawattamie and in the State of Iowa, have invented cerhole through each end, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
In order to enable others skilled in the art to which my invention appertains to make and use the same, I will nowproceed to describe its construction and operation, referring to the annexed drawing, which represents a perspective view of my invention.
A A represent two wrought or. cast iron rods, about five inches long, more or less, and of any suitable thickness. The ends of each rod are flattened, and in each end is made a suitable hole for a wire to be passed through. As the best size for such holes I have found thatthe hole at one end should be large enough to fit No.9 wire, and that at the other end to fit No. 14 Wire.
With this implement 01d Wire fences may be mended and fixed up. The old pieces of wire are to be cut up into pieces of about three and a halt inches long, and, by means of the pair of rods or twisters A A, these pieces may be twisted around the old wire fence, and set fast by the use of an ordinary WILLIAM DULIN.
