UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRED MAHLER, OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
BATHROOM COMBINATION SET.
Application filed November 5, 1928. Serial No. 317,324.
ratus of this nature, which is simple in its.
construction, inexpensive to manufacture, thoroughly eflicient and reliable in use, and otherwise well adapted to the purpose for which it is designed.
lVith the above and numerous other objects in view as will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in certain novel features of construction and in .the combination and arrangement of parts as will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed.
In the drawings: 7
Figure 1 is a front elevation of the apparatus embodying the features of my invention.
Figure 2 is a side or edge elevation thereof.
Figure 3 is a rear elevation thereof.
Figure a is a fragmentary perspective of a wash basin or the like, showing my apparatus mounted thereon.
Figure 5 is a transverse sectional view, 30 taken substantially on the lines 55 of Figure 1.
Referring to the drawings in detail, it will be seen that I provide a substantially U-shaped frame including a pair of spaced parallel co-extensive side bars 5, connected at adjacent ends by a cross bar 6. An eye 7 is mounted on. the cross bar 6 so that the frame may be hung up on a nail or peg or the like. A second cross bar 8 is attached to the side bars 5, adjacent to and spaced from the bar 6. A clip 9 is provided on one side bar and a book 10 on the other for supportin a hair brush 11. On said one side bar there is a peg 12 and on said other side bar, there is another hook 13 for supporting a nail brush 14:. A soap tray 15 is mounted across the side bars and has an angular extending portion 16 ,so that soap may be supported whether the frame is upright or is in the position shown in Figure 4. A tray T for supporting toilet articles, such as razors, shaving brush and the like, includes preferably a mesh bot-tom 17, side walls 18, end walls 19, anda plurality of compartments forming partitions 20. A closure panel 21 is hingedly mounted on one of the side walls 18. A mirror 22 is hing-i edly engaged on the free edge of the panel 21, and props 23 are provided for holding the mirror 22 in different angular positions in relation to the panel 21, so that this mirror may be conveniently positioned for shaving purposes in accordance with the light provided. A platform is disposed across the side bars 5 so that the toilet articles may be rested thereon, as indicated by dotted lines in Figured.
From the above detailed description it will i be seen that I have devised an exceedingly convenient and compact arrangement of parts in an apparatus of this nature wherein the structure is simple and may be manufactured at a low cost. It will be seen that the apparatus may be used under a large variety of different conditions.
It is thought that the construction, utility and advantages of this invention will now be quite apparent to those skilled in this art, without a more detailed description thereof.
The present embodiment of the invention has been disclosed in considerable detail, merely for the purposes of exemplification, since in actual practice it attains the features of advantage enumerated as desirable in the statement of the invention and the above description. It will be apparent that changes in the details of construction, and in the combination and arrangement of parts may be resorted to, without departing from the spirit of the invention or scope of the appended claims.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new is:
1. An apparatus of the class described including a U-shaped frame provided with a pair of spaced elongated parallel co-extensive side bars, and a relatively short cross bar at adjacent ends of the side bars, means for supportin bars, means or supporting a tooth brush across the side bars, a soap tray supported across the side bars, and a toilet article tray supported across the side bars. p
2. An apparatus of the class described inpair of spaced elongated parallel co-extensive side bars, and a relatively short cross bar at adjacent ends of the side bars, means for supportin a hair brush across the side bars, means or supporting a tooth brush across the side bars, a soap tray supported a hair brush across the side eluding a U-shaped frame provided with a i acrossthe side bars, and a toilet article atray supported across the side bars, said last men tioned tray including a mesh bottom, side Walls, end Walls, and a hinged closure panel on one of the side walls.
3. An apparatus of the class described including a U-shaped frame provided with a pair of spaced elongated parallel coextensive side bars, and a relatively short cross bar at adjacent ends of the side bars, means for supporting a hair brush across the side bars, means for supporting a tooth brush across the side bars, a soap tray supported across the side bars, and'a toilet article tray supported across the side bars, said last mentioned tray including a mesh bottom, side Walls, end walls, and hinged closure panel on one of the side walls, a mirror hingedly engaged with the free edge of the panel.
4. An apparatus of the class described including a U shaped frame provided with a pair of spaced elongated parallel co-extensive side bars, and a relatively short cross bar at adjacent ends of the side bars, means for supporting a hair brush across the side bars, means for supporting a tooth brush across the side barspa soap tray supported across the side bars, and a toilet article tray supported across the side bars, said last mentioned tray including a mesh bottom, side walls, end walls, and a hinged closure panel on one of the side walls, a mirror hingedly engaged with the free edge of the panel, and a prep for holding said mirror at different angular positions with respect to said panel.
5. an apparatus ofthe class described including a U-shaped frame provided with a pair oi spaced elongated parallel-co-extensive side bars, and a relatively short cross lilfll' at adjacent ends of the side bars, means for supporting a hair brush across the side bars, means for supporting a tooth brush across the side bars, a soap tray supported across the side bars, and a toilet article tray supported across the side bars, said last mentioned tray including a mesh bottom, side walls, end walls, and a hinged closure panel on one of the side walls, a mirror hingedly engaged with the" free edge of the panel, and a prop for holding said mirror at different angular positions with respect to said panel, the first mentioned tray having an angular extension.
In testimony whereof I aiiix my signature.
FRED MAHLER.
