My invention relates to voice producing and controlling device for dolls and more particularly to a device for etfectivelyproducing voice sounds uttered by the mouth of a baby, or child, as used in connection with dolls. r
The object of my present inventionis to provide a voice producing and controlling device which will effectively produce pa-pa syllables and ma-ma syllables alternately.
A further object of the invention is to provide a voice producing-device for dolls which possesses, advantages in points of simplicity and efficiency, and, at the same time'proves itself comparatively inexpensive in cost of manufacture.
lVith the above and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel features of construction, arrangement and combina tion of parts hereinafter more fully described and finally pointed out in the claims hereto appended.
Referring to the accompanying drawings forming a part of this specification, wherein like characters of reference denote similar parts throughout the several views:

In carrying out the aim of my invention, I employ a suitable fiber, or equivalent cylindrical tubular casing 1.- The wall of the casing 1 is provided intermediate its ends, preferably midway thereof, with a suitable voice or sound outlet opening 2 which is preferably covered by means of a suitable fabric screen 3 to seal the interior of the casing from foreign particles entering the Same and yet adm t a r W the interier of the casing for supplying the bellows hereinafter described. 1 I
Suitable closure caps 4 and 5 are suitably fixed to the ends of the tubular casing 1 andeach cap is provided with a centrally disposed elongnatedsocket 6 which is formed by-pr essing the cap material outwardly at that point. Y
The numeral'i represents a suitable flat metallic valve bar which is stationarily supported at each end by causing the reduced ends 7 of the bar to be received in-thecap sockets 6 so as to be disposed centrally of the casing l and running longitudinally thereof I with its center line thereof parallel with the wall of the case 1. v

The slidably mounted bellows air expelling heads 8 and 9 are provided with centrally disposed slottedopenings 14: and 15, respectively for receiving the stationary valve bar 7 upon which bar the bellows air expelling heads 8 and 9 are alternately slidable and free from possible rotary displacement thereupon. I The bellows air expelling heads 8 and 9 are provided with suitable sound producing reeds 26 and 27, respectively. The reeds 26 and 27 are suitably connected at their inner ends to'the inner Walls 28 29 of the bet I openings and 31, respectively.
The alternately slidable bellows air eX- polling head 8 is provided in the wall section 32 with a su table. air pressure relief opening 33 communicating directly with the air chamber 34 within the bellows bag 1 to produce sharp voice sounds. The operation of the sound producing and ward position upon the valve bar 7 causing the air to pass through the reed 26 into chain-f her 16 and through opening 18 and out of the valve bar openings 38 and 39' thereby causing the reed to produce pa-pa syllables. The opening 33 in the head wall 32 relieves the pressure within the bellows bag 10 so as to prevent the closing' of the reed and yet only relieve enough pressure to provide a sharp sound the reed in producing papa syllables.

It will be apparent that when air is being compressed within the bellows bag 10. that the bellows bag 11 is taking in air.
The many advantages of the herein described invention will readily suggest themselves to those skilled in the art to which it appertains.

1. A device of the class described consisting of a hollow casing having an opening, a valve bar, spaced aligned movable air expelling means mounted upon the valve bar,

3. A voice sound producing device including a casing having an opening, a stationary valve bar, a pair of sound cont-rolling devices each includin a member movable upon" the valve bar, a sound producing device carried by each movable valve means on the valve bar and the movable member cooperating with the sound producing devices to interrupt and articulate the sounds from the sound producing devices to produce pa-pa syllables when one of the movable members is moved along the valve bar in one direction and to produce ma ma syllables when the other movable member is moved along the valve bar in the opposite direction.

A sound producing and controlling device comprising a tubular casing having closed ends and a sound emitting opening intermediate the ends of the casing, a fiat valve bar fixed Within the casing, a pair of bellows alternately slidable upon said bar, sounding means, and valve means on the valve bar and the bellows cooperating with the sounding means to interrupt and'articulate the sound.- ing means to effectively produce pa-pa syllables when the casing is tilted in one direction and effectively produce ma-ma syllables when the casing is tilted in the opposite direction.
5. In a device for producing voice sounds embodying a tubular member, a fixed valve bar within the tubular member, a pair of sound producing devices, a pair oi": sound controlling members having valve openings alternately slidable upon said valve bar in spaced relation, said valve bar having spaced openings for register with the *alve opening in one of the sound controlling members for emitting pa-pa syllables when the tubular member is tilted in one direction and said valve bar having spaced openings therein closed at opposite ends and having a sound opening in its wallintermediate the ends of the casing, a valve bar fixed within the casing, a pair or" bellows bags fixed at their outer ends to the ends of the casing, an air expelling head fixed to the inner ends of the bellows bags and slidably mounted upon the valve bar in spaced relation, sounding means carried by the airexpelling heads and valve means on the valve bar and air expelling heads cooperating with the sounding means to interrupt and 'artlculate the sounds from the sounding means to produce ma-ma sounds when the doll is tilted in one direction and to produce pa pa sounds when the doll is tilted in the opposite direction. a
7.- In a sound producing device for dolls which will give pa-pa and ma-ma sounds, a tubular casing having an opening intermediate its ends, closure caps for.

In a sound producing device for dolls, a hollow casing having a Wall opening, a stationary valve bar, a pair of bellows bags, an air expellinghead fixed to the inner end of each bellows bag, one of said air expelling heads having an air pressure relief opening, sound producing means carried by each air expelling head, valve means on the valve bar and each air expelling head cooperating with the sound producing means to interrupt and articulatethe sound from the sound producing means to give papa sounds when the casing is tilted in one direct-on and to give the opposite direction.
