of the wearer; one wherein the front and rear collar buttons are permanently attached to the collar band, and one wherein said buttons are constructed 03E rubber or other yield-able material so that the band may be laundered without necessitating the removing of the collar buttons from the collar band, or injuring the collar buttons or shirt-band by the buttons remaining therein.

With the above mentioned and other objects in view, the invention consists in the novel construction and combination or parts hereinafter described, illustrated in the accompanying crawings, and set forth, in the claim heretoappended, it being understood that various changes in the form, proportion, size and minor details or construction within the scope'ott the claim may be resorted to-without departing from the spirit or sacrificing any of the advantages of the invention.

In order to'more fully comprehend. the in vention, reference is directed to the accompanying drawings, wherein Fig. l'is a view in perspectiveoi the collar band and buttons in anassembled position.

Fig. 2 is an enlarged detailed view of one end of the band provided with overlying flaps, showing the base of the front-collar button secured to the under flap.

Fig. 3 is view in cross sectiontaken on line 3-3 of Fig. 1.

Figure 4 is an enlarged detailed view of flaps showing the flaps stitched along their top and end edges, affording a pocket for the base of the collar button.

By constructing the buttons of fiexible material, the laundering oftne collar will not be interfered with, nor wilithe button be likely to become broken from the proc- The flap 5 is provided with a buttonhole 7 for receiving the shank 8 and head 9 of the collar button 6, thus holding the same in position should the flap 4 be moved from its normally flat position, or if, for any reason, the collar button becomes loosened from said flap.

The other end 10 of the band 1 is provided with a buttonhole 11 adapted to receive the head and shank of the collar button, thus detachably securing the two ends of the band when said button is inserted within said buttonhole 11.

It is to be understood that if desired, the flaps i and 5 may be stitched along their top and end edges having the bottom of said flaps unstitchedailording a pocketfor the base of the button, as shown in Fig. 4, thus holding the lower flap 4 against movement. This may be done before or after the front collar button 6 has been attached to the forward face oi the flap l.
