PATENT OF F l C E This invention relates to improvements in a combination bill fold and pass case and its object is to effect interchangeability of the pass case so that the device may be adapted to the varyin needs of individuals using the same, Another object of the invention is to hold the bill fold or pass ease in closed position so as to prevent accidental opening of either.

A feature of the invention is the locklng flap formed by an extension of one wall in the pass case which may be inserted in a pocket in the bill fold to hold the bill fold and pass case closed or may be inserted in a pocket in the pass case so that the bill fold may be opened 16 without permitting the leaves of the pass case to swing promiscuously.

Figure 1 is a perspective view of the combination bill fold and pass case showing the same in closed position;

Figure 2 is a view similar to Figure 1 show ing the device wholly open;

Figure 3 is an exaggerated longitudinal sectional View through Figure 1, showing the leaves in elevation, and

Figure 4 is an exaggerated transverse sectional view through Figure 1, showing the leaves in elevation.

Referring to the drawings in detail the bill fold 10 comprises an outer wall 11 and an inner wall 12 which walls are joined along three marginal edges to provide an elongated pocket for the reception of bills. The inner wall 12 is provided on its inner face adjacent g opposite ends with extensions 13 which are folded over and secured along theedge of the wall 12 which is attached to the wall 11 opposite the open side of the bill receiving pocket, to provide open ended pockets 14 for the re ception of the cover of the pass case.

The pass case 15 comprises a cover 16 which is folded over upon itself as at 17 and has attachedalong the line of its fold a plurality of leaves supporting transparent windows 19 for the reception of lodge cards, passes or the like. Formed at the free end of one wall of the cover 16 is a flap 20 which is adapted to be received in a pocket 21 formed between the cover 16 and the wall 22 which is attached thereto.

In use that portion of the pass case cover 16 carrying the fiap 20 is inserted through one of the pockets 14 as illustrated in Figures 2 and 3 so that the flap 20 projects well beyond the outer end of the wall 13 in such a manner that it may be readily folded around the loose ends of t e leaves 18 and entered into the pocket 21 so as to hold the pass case closed yet permit the bill fold to be readily opened. When it is desired to hold the bill fold closed, the flap 20 is inserted into the pocket 14 opposite that containing the cover 16 and when in this position, namely that shown in Fig. 1 it will be apparent that the bill fold in its entirety will be held against accidental opening.

While in the foregoing there has been shown and described the preferred embodiment of this invention it is to be understood that minor changes in the details and construction, combination and arrangemet of parts, may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as claimed.

I claim:

1. In combination with a bill fold having a pair of opposed sections, a pass case removably secured therein to one of the sections, and means carried by the pass case for engaging the other section to hold the bill fold in closed position about the pass case.

2. In combination with a bill fold having opposed sections, a pass ease having a flap, means on one of the bill fold sections to engage the flap for removably retaining the pass case in the bill fold, and means on another bill fold section for cooperating with the flap for holding the bill fold in closed position about the pass case.

3. The combination with a bill fold, comprising a pair of hinged sections, of a pass case having a flap, means on one of said sections to cooperate with the flap for removably holding the pass case in the bill fold, and means on the pass case cooperating with the flap to hold the pass case closed and permit the bill fold to be opened.

4. The combination with a bill fold, having two hinged sections, of a pass case, means including a flap for removably attaching the pass case to one of the sections, and means on the other section of the bill fold to cooperate with the flap and hold the bill fold in closed position about the pass case.

5. The combination with a bill fold including an inner wall, wall extensions on said wall vparallel therewith and secured along the longitudinal edges thereof to provide open ended ockets adjacent opposite ends of the bill old, of a pass case including a cover one wall of which is adapted to be received in one of the open ended pockets of the bill fold, a flap on said cover wall, the opposite wall of the cover being provided with a pocket to receive the flap whereby the ass case will be held closed and the blll fol may be readily opened, said flap also being adapted to be entered into one open end of the pocket on the bill fold opposite that receiving the wall of the pass case cover.

In a device of the class described, a bill fold comprising hingedly connected sections having open ended pockets on their inner sides, a pass case disposed within the bill fold, means on the pass case for disposition in one of said pockets whereby to removably retain the pass case in the bill fold, and a flap carried by said retaining means and ada ted to be selectivel disposed in the pocket 0 the other bill fol closed. 7

7 In a device of the class described, a bill section to hold the bill fold fold comprising hingedl connected sections having open ended poc ets on their inner sides, a pass case having a plurality of leaf sections disposed within the bill fold and accessible for display without removal therefrom, means on the pass case for disposition in the pocket of one of the bill fold sections whereby to retain the pass case in the bill fold, and a flap carried by said retainin means and adapted to selectivel hold t e pass case closed with the bill f0 (1 open, or to hold the bill fold closed about the pass case. 8. In combination with a bill fold having a pair of opposed sections, a pass case removably secured therein to one of said sections, means carried by the pass case for engaging the other section to hold the bill fold in closed position about the pass case, and additional means carried by the pass case for engaging the first means to hold'the pass caseclosed.
