DEVICE FOR THE ERECTION AND KEEPING OF TYPEWRITEIRS.
Application filed October 25, 1927, Serial No. 228,602, and in Sweden November 2 8, 1925.
This invention relates to a device frbringing atypewriter, calculating-machine or other like. office-machine movably connected with a table or the like into a position suitable for use, from a more or less hidden position in whichthe machine may be kept during other times. 7
According to the invention the device is such that the frame of the machine with its feet or corresponding parts is fastened to a. sliding shelf or like support. At the opposite sides of the support are positioned two 00- axial grooved rollers or the like, the common axis of which is almost directly under the center of gravity of the machine. These grooved rollers engage correspondingly formed guide strips or the like, each of which has one end fastened to the lower side of a table plate or the like which may be arranged in a known manner to slide beneath a drawer of the table, preferably in one side comport with the machine may be easily moved or (n) forward on the guide strips and then turned up in position for use or vice versa. The guide strips are in their front part, where the curvature upward begins, preferably first bent somewhat downward in order that the grooved rollers may drop into this downward curvature, whereby a certain bearing is obtained for turning the support. Recesses are preferably formed above the guide strips on the under side of the table plate, for permitting the rollers to project somewhat therein and for allowing the sliding support to be suspended close up against the table plate. The accompanying drawings show one form of device embodying this invention.

The plate is guided by a suitable guiding device, for instance angle irons t and 5. After the support 2 has been turned around so that the machine takes the position intended for writing, the support-2 is locked to the plate 1 by a suitable locking device as may readily be understood. 11 indicates a recess in the under side of the plate 1 over the guide strip 6, in which recess the roller 10 projects.
\Vhen securingthe device to one compartment of a writing-table, as shown in Figs. 1.
and 2, one does not let the removable plate take the usual position over the drawers but preferably places at the top a drawer 12 (Fig. 2) and under this the guide means,
that is to say the angle irons t and 5, for the table-plate. VVhenthe table-plate with the support inverted is pushed into the side compartment, the side compartment -Inay be closed by a door 13, preferably adapted so as to be turned only 90 from the shutting position when being opened, and having on'its inside a shoulder (notshown) adapted to support one side of the table-platel while sliding'as well as during the use of the machine. One more drawer 14 may be placed below the compartment. V
Having now described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A device for bringing a typewriter or like machine into a position suitable for use from a more or less concealed position within a table or the like, comprisinga movable supportto Which the bottom of the machine may be secured, coaxial rollers on the support positioned substantially beneath the center of gravity of the. machine, a fiat member slidable into and out of the table, guide strips for strips and turned up into, operative position When the rollers are in engagement with the upwardly curved ends of the guide strips.
2. A device according to claim 1 in which each guide strip is curved downwardly adjacentthe point Where itbeginste curve up.
3. A device according to claim 1 in which the flat member is provided with recesses in its under surface above the guide strips, into which recesses the rollers project, in order that the movable support may be suspended close up against the bottom the flat member. c
