the ornamentation to the liquid in which the I dress is washed.
Another object is to provide a novel ornamentation for wash dresses and which will give the greatest amount of style or dress to such wash dress.
Another object is to provide novel means for ornamenting a house dress and which ornamentation means may be useful in giving to such dress the greatest amount of ornamentation or contrast, and which is also useful to the wearer as a pocket.
I have discovered that a Japanese crepe wash frock is greatly enhanced in beauty by the addition of patent leather trimmings thereto whereby all of the vivid coloring of such wash frock is brought out with the result that a very smart and serviceable dress,
suitable for wear at the beaches, summer vacationing, or wherever a wash dress is desirable, may be produced. b
Other objects, advantages and features of invention may appear from the accompanyingdrawing, the subjoined detail description, and the appended claims.
The accompanying drawing illustrates the invention in some of the forms I at present deem preferable.
Figure 1 is a front view of a dress to which my novel ornamentation is secured.
Figure 2 is a fragmental front view of a dress provided with a slightly different form of ornamental means.
Figure 3 is a side view on a slightly enlarged scale, of the device shown in Figure 2.
Figure 4 is a view showing the detailed pocket and belt construction shown in Figures 2 and 3, and
V Figure 5 is a similar view but showing the pocket and belt construction shown in Figure 1.
My invention comprises the combination of a frock or dress 1 made of washable material, and ornamented or provided with ornamental means 2, suchas ornamental or imitation pockets or the like, which may be merely imitation pockets used solely for ornamental purposes, or which may be used as a pocket. The ornamentation means 2 for the dress 1 is preferably vmade ofpatent leather, such as oil cloth which is not ordinarily washable in the same sense .as' a wash dress, but which has been found, when added to vividly colored or brightly colored crepe,
or other wash dresses, that all of the beauty and coloring of the material from which the dress is made, is brought out in all its vivid colors. b 1
By this combination I am able to provide an inexpensive wash dress that will display its colors to the highest degree by reason of contrastingsuch color with the effects only obtained from patent leather. The ornamentation 2 is adapted and arranged so as to be easily and quickly detached from,
or attached to, the dress 1, as desired.
In Figures 1 and 5 I have shown pockets 3 that have a body portion a provided withextension members 4 extending upwardly from each side of the pocket?) and which extensions 4: are provided with holding straps that are formed by 'slittingthe extension i so as to provide a slot 5 that is adapted to receive the belt 6 which is of sufficient length to encircle the waist line of the wearer and to be secured in position by any suitable fastening means, such as the button 7 and buttonhole 8.
By the arrangement hereinabove described I am able to trim a wash dress that may be made ofany washable material in a highly artistic and desirable manner, with a material not ordinarily washable such as patent leather. It will be apparent that such dress may be worn with or without such ornamentation. When it is desired to use my novel ornamentation means in combination with a wash dress, such means may be easily and quickly secured thereto near thewaist line thereof and'is detachably' fastened to the dress by merely securing together the ends
