Application led July 16,
The invention relates to protectors for toilet seats and its object is to provide an etlicient sanitary article which may be readily applied to a seat and which will thor oughly protect the occupant, and which may be folded into a small package for dispensing or transportation.
An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the accompanying ydrawings in which,
Figure 1 is a top plan view of the protector; Fig. 2 a bottom plan vieWof the same; Fig. 3 a side view of the same and Fig. et a perspective view of the protector folded up.
The protector consists of a plurality of sheets of suitable paper l secured to a relatively narrow strip of suitable material 2, preferably paper. The sheets overlap some* what and the strip 2 is secured to one end portion oi' each sheet only so that the sheets will overlap and will readily slide'over each other into the compact form shown in Fig. 4 for insertion into an envelope or other container'.
In use the protector is drawn out to its full length and laid 'on one side of the seat and then drawn around and on the front and onto the other side, so that the article surrounds the seat opening. The strip 2 readily yields laterally so that the sheets may be twisted laterally to fully contact with the seat about the opening thereof. Y
.The paper sheets may be paraliined or formed of suitable paper that Will be water proof and thereby prevent all foreign inatter from passing through them. The paper may be treated with antiseptic material also.
1927. Serial N0. 206,362.
As much of the protector may be used as is desired, the remainder' being torn oli' by severing the strip. The paper will readily discharge through the toilet.
'lhe strip between each two sheets readily :t'olds so that the sheets may be fully overlapped into a small package suit-able for in sertion in anv envelope, in which condition it most convenient to carry or dispense.
lli/hat l claim is:
l. A seat protector consisting of a plurality ot overlapped sheets of paper narrower than the sheets secured to a strip of paper, the strip being secured t0 a portion oit each sheet only.
2. A toilet seat protector consisting of a relatively narrow strip of paper and a plurality of overlapped sheets of paper' wider than the strip secured at points adjacent to their middle portions to the strip, the strip being such that the sheets may be twisted laterally to cause the protector to surround the seat opening.
3. A toilet seat protector consisting of a narrow strip of paper and a plurality of overlapped sheets of paper secured to the strip each sheet extending laterally beyond the opposite side edges of the strip, the strip being foidable transversely between each two sheets to perniit said sheets to stack one upon another in a package and said strip permitting the sheets to be twisted laterally to conform to the curvature of the seat opening.
In witness whereof I have hereunto signed my naine this 14th day ot July, 1927.
