BAG HOLDER.

Application filed February 5, 1927. Serial No. 166,164.

This invention relates to improvements in bag holders and its object is to provide means for supporting or holding a bag open to permit filling it in a convenient manner.

6 With the foregoing and other objects in view the invention consists in the combination and arrangement of parts to be hereinafter fully described, particularly pointed out in the appended claims and illustrated in the accompanying drawing which forms a part of this application and in which Fig. l is a top plan view of the bag holder.

Like reference characters denote corresponding parts throughout the several views. The ba holder comprises a hopper-like i body to w ich a pair of oppositely disposed handles are fulcrumed, said handles at their lower ends carrying a pair of curved bag engaging bars that serve automatically to support the bag in open position when the device is held by its handles.

The hopper-like body 1 tapers from its mouth 2 to its discharge end 3 and is prefer abl oblong in shape and formed at its ends with ears 4 arranged in pairs. The members of each pair of cars are connected together by a bolt 5 and an angular handle 6 is fulcrumed upon said bolt, said handle comprising a hand grip 7 at its upper end, said handle being integral with a curved bar 8 3 formed at the'handle end remote from the hand grip 7. The bars 8 are disposed opposite or contiguous to the body 1 and the shape of each handle is such that as the then supported by the hand grips 7 causing a the bars 8 to stretch the mouth of the bag thus holding it suspended in open position. The bag is now readily filled by introducing the material into the hopper-like body.

When the is filled the hand grips are released or pressed outwardly from each other thus causing the bars 8 to move toward the body 1 and release the bag.

lVhat is claimed is 1. In a bag holder, a hopper-like body portion, ears arranged in pairs disposed 0pposite each other and formed integral with said body portion, handles fulcrumed to said ears, and curved bars integral with said handles and disposed upon the opposite side of the fulcrums with relation to said handles.

In a bag holder, a hopper-like body portion, ears formed upon said body por tion bolts connecting said earsin pairs, angular handles fulcrumed upon said bolts, hand grips atone end of said handles and disposed above said body portion, and curved bars integral with said handles contiguous to said body port-ion, said bars being disposed upon the opposite side of the fulcrums with relation to said handles.
