By virtue of the construction of the present device it will be evident that we can readily position the rin on the curtain pole without the necessity o detaching the same from its bracket, by merely spreading the arms of the device so that they will pass over the pole and then by turning the ring at right angles, the same will assume the position shown to advantage in Figure 3, thereby allowing any article to be suspended such as, draperies or portieres to secured to the ring elements.

The extremities of the wires at the other side of the central twisted portion or body 7 of the device diverge from the body, thence are bent at substantially right angles upon themselves to provide substantially overlapping portions as indicated by the numerals 12 and 13, and then bent upwardly at right angles to provide ends which are pointed as at 14 and 15 to provide hooks.

It is to be understood thatinstead of the hooked ends illustrated, a conventional eye can likewise be utilized.

Not only will the hook ends l tand 15 serve to engage and retain a portion of drapery, as illustrated by the numeral 16,

but thepointed extremities 11 and 12 can likewise be utilized for engaging and retaining the portion of the drapery or an extra piece of'ornamental fringe or the like, that is desired to be retained by the curtain rings.

From the foregoing description it will be obvious that we have devised a most economical drapery retaining device that can be quickly adjusted to an operative position with relation to a curtain pole and which will securely retain thereon drapery or portieres that are desired to be suspended.

It is to be understood that the form of our invention herewith shown and described is to be taken as a preferred example of the same and that various changes relative to the material, size, shape and arrangement of parts may be resorted to Without departing from the spirit of the invention, or the scope of the subjoined claims.

Having thus described our invention, we claim i 1.
