Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. ll, dated July Q0, 1875 application ilcd May 17, 1875.
To all whom t may concern:
Beit known that I, THOMAS HAGEETY, of the city, county, and Stato Ot' New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Tools; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it pertains to make and use the Same, reference being had to the accompanying, drawings, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, which form apart of this Specitication.
The object of my invention is to combine in one tool a hammer, box-opener, tack or nail pullers, stationary and adjustable wrench, and screw-driver; and consists in an improvement upon Patent No. 147,113, as Will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
The accompanyin drawing, to which reference is made, fully illustrates my invention.
The entire compound tool is made in one piece, A being the handle, and .B the body thereof, In the body B is a square hole, U, intended to be used asa stationary or gas meter wrench. On one side of the body I3 is formed the hammer D,'and directly opposite the same is the tack-puller E. On the end of the body B is the box-opener G, made Substantially in the same form as the ltack-puller E, but of larger Size. The handle A is provided With a graduated wrench, ai, thehaudle being slotted, as shown, for that purpose, and having its widest in )cning nearest the end of the handle, and gradually decreasing on parallel sides toward the head or bod)7 Ot' the tool. 0n the end of the handle is formed the screw-driver b. This tool may be made of malleable iron or steel, and all in one piece. Then made Of malleable iron the point-s are case-hardened. In one of the corners ot' the Wrench C next to the handle is an angular. slot, b', which is used to pull large nails, thus utilizing,` the opening for a wrench and nailpuller.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to Secure by Letters Patent, is-
