The pulley 21 is mounted on a stud or dead shaft 22 supported by a bearin 23 carried by the loom frame, and the pu ley 21 is rotated by means of a belt 24 driven from the under or cam shaft 25 by means of a belt pulley 26 rotating therewith. The bearing 18 for the bobbin claner 14 is carried by an arm 27, therear end portion of which is concentrically mounted with the shaft 22, as indicated in Fig. 1. In the present instance of the invention, the shaft 21 has mounted thereon a sleeve 28 to which the arm 27 is rigidly connected, and means are provided for moving the arm 27 and the bobbin cleaner carried thereby, on replenishment of filling. Mounted on the loom frame is the usual transverse or change shaft 29 to which is connected an arm 30 having adjustably secured thereto an extension 31 by means of a bolt 32 and slot 33, whereby the. length of the actuator which is constituted by the arms 30 and 31 may be lengthened or shortened to impart to the bobbin cleaner the desired movement to and from bobbin cleaning position, to permit discharge of a cleaned obbin.
Pivotally connected'to the arm 31 at 34 is the link 35 which is pivoted at 3.6 to one arm 37 of a bell crank lever, the pivotal point of which may be conveniently carried by a bracket 38 secured to the loom frame. The other arm 39 of the bell crank lever has a pin and slot connection with the bobbin cleaner supporting arm 27, and, as indicated in 'Fig. 1, this is accomplished by means of a pin 40 extendin from the supporting arm 27 and through the slot 41 of the arm 39, the construction being such that upon rocking movement of the transverse or change shaft 29 in one direction on call for replenishment of filling, the bobbin cleaner 14 will be raised from its bobbin cleaning ositionto permit the discharge of a cleaned obbin.
As indicated in Fig. 1, a stop is provided for maintaining the bobbin cleaner 14 in its bobbin cleaning position, and such stop may be conveniently formed by a horizontal arm 42 of the bracket 38 on which the arm 27 may rest when in its lowered position.
Pivotall mounted at 43 in'the bobbin receiver 11 is the incoming bobbin catcher 44,
- the lower end portion 45 of which is adjacent to and above the bobbin cleaner 14, the' incoming bobbin to be cleaned. If desired,
a light'spring 46, as indicated in Fig. 1, may yieldingly'act upon the bobbin catcher 44 to insure its downward movement with; the bobbin cleaner to permit a bobbin on the bobbin catcher to move to bobbin cleaning position. It is preferable in most instances to provide a stop 47 for limiting the downward movement of the bobbin .catcherand maintain it in position with the lower end adjacent to and above the bobbin cleaner.
Cooperating with the bobbin cleaner 14 to hold the bobbin in cleaning position is a bobbin support 48. the downwardly extending portion of which projects below the bobbin cleaner, with the result that wheii a bobbin to be cleaned is discharged from the bobbin catcher it may move onto the bobbin support with tlie'yarn on the bobbin in engagement with the bobbin cleaner, as indicated in Fig. 2.
Extendingfrom awall of the bobbin re ceiver is a stop or plate 49 which may be conveniently supported on a shaft 50, and be provided with an arm 51 for normally holding the stop 49 in its initial position. The lower end portion 52 of the stop cooperates with the lower portion 45 of the bobbin arrester when the latter is in its raised position, as indicated in Fig. 3, to close the passageway leading to the bobbin cleaning position and supportthe incoming bobbin to be cleaned for movement to cleaning position when the bobbin cleaner is moved to its initial or bobbin cleaning position, the result being that when the bobbin cleaner is moved away from. the bobbin support 48 into its upper position to permit the discharge of a cleaned bobbin, and the bobbin arrester is raised into closed position with relation to the stop 49, theincoming bobbin to be cleaned will be held from movement to its cleaning position until after the bobbin cleaner has been moved downwardly a sufiicient amount to close the passageway between the bobbin cleaner and the bobbin sup-.
port 48, so that the incoming filling carrier cannot be discharged without being cleaned.
Since the bobbin cleaner 14 moves on the arc of a circle to and from its bobbin cleaning position, the slot 16 is made sufliciently wide to accommodate for such movement, as indicated in Figs. 2 and 3.
In Fig.2 a bobbin a is indicated as held in bobbin cleaning position relative to the bobbin cleaner 14 by the bobbin support 48, while in Fig. 3- the bobbin cleaner 14 is shown as being moved upwardly fromits bobbin cleaning position to permit the discharge of the cleaned bobbin a and arrest the movement of the incoming bobbin 6 which was discharged into the bobbin re-- ceiver on replenishment of filling.
What is claimed-is: 1. In a filling replenishing loom, the combination of replenishing mechanism, a bobbin receiver having a bobbin cleaner, a support for holding a bobbin to be cleaned, and means operated on replenishment of filling for moving the bobbin cleaner away from its cleaning position and the bobbin support to open a discharge passage that a cleaned bobbin may be discharged from the bobbin cleaning position.
2. In a filling replenishing loom, the combination of replenishing mechanism, a bobbin receiver having a bobbin cleaner, a support for holding a bobbin to be cleaned in cleaning relation to the bobbin cleaner, a hinged flap in the bobbin receiver having its free end normally adjacent to the bobbin cleaner, and means actuated on replenishment of filling for movin the bobbin cleaner and hinged flap away from the bobbin support that a cleaned bobbin may be discharged and an incoming bobbin to be cleaned may be arrested by the hinged flap for subsequent movement to cleaning position.
3. In a filling replenishing loom, the combination of replenishing mechanism, a bobbin receiver having a bobbin cleaner, a support for holding a bobbin to be cleaned in cleaning relation to the bobbin cleaner, a hinged flap in the bobbin receiver having its free end normally adjacent to the bobbin cleaner, and means actuated on replenishment of filling for lifting the bobbin cleaner and the free end of the hinged flap away from the bobbin support to dischar e a cleaned bobbin and arrest an incoming obbin to be cleaned for subsequent movement to bobbin cleaning position.
4. In a filling re lenishing loom, the combination of a bobbin receiver having a bobbin cleaner, a bobbin support for holding a bobbin in cleanin position, an arm connected to the bobbln cleaner, and means actuated on replenishment of fillin for operating said arm to move the bob in cleaner away from the bobbin support to discharge a cleaned bobbin.
5. In a filling re lenishing loom, the combination of a bobbin receiver having a bobbin cleaner, a bobbin sup ort cooperating with the bobbin cleaner to old a bobbin in cleaning position, means for supporting the bobbin cleaner for movement to and from its normal cleanin position on replenish ment of filling to discharge a cleaned bobbin, and anincoming bobbin arrester which is moved into arresting position as the bobbin cleaner is moved to discharge a cleaned bobbin to insure that the incoming bobbin to be cleaned shall be delayed in its movement to cleaning position.
6. In a filling replenishing loom, the combination of a bobbin receiver having slotted side walls, a bobbin cleaner extending transverse] of the bobbin receiver, an arm connecte to the bobbin cleaner for moving it in the slotted walls of the bobbin receiver, and means actuated on re lenishment of filling for moving the bobbin cleaner relative to i the slotted walls of the receiver away from bobbin cleaning position to permit the dis charge of a cleaned bobbin and then back to cleanin position.
7. In a filling re lenishing loom, the combination of a bo bin receiver, a bobbin cleaner, means for rotating the bobbin cleaner during the loom operation, an arm connected to the bobbin cleaner, and means operating through said arm on replenishment of filling for moving the rotating bobbin cleaner from and to bobbin cleaning position.
8. In a filling replenishing loom, the combination of a bobbin receiver, a bobbin cleaner, a pulley operated b a going part of the loom, a belt and pu ley connection therewith to the bobbin cleaner, an arm concentrically ivoted with relation tothe first named pul ey and supporting the bobbin cleaner, and means actuated on replenishment of filling for swinging said arm to move the bobbin cleaner from and to bobbin cleaning osition to eifect discharge of a cleaned bob bin.
9. In a filling replenishing loom. the combination of a bobbin receiver and a rotary bobbin cleaner, :1 bobbin arrester pivotally mounted in-the bobbin receiver with its free end overlying the bobbin cleaner, a bobbin support cooperatin with the bobbin cleaner to position the b0 bin to be cleaned, and means actuated on replenishment of filling for moving the bobbin cleaner away from the bobbin support to discharge a cleaned bobbin and causing it to move the bobbin arrester to bobbin arresting position and then returning the bobbin cleaner and with it the bobbin arrester to initial positions.
