With tlie above and otlier objeete and advantages in View, the invention eonsiete in the details of construction and arrangement of parte to be hereinafter more fully de scribed and claimed, and illustrated in the aceoinpanyini` drawing" in which:

which device includes a plate 25 adapted Lto be fastened flat against a convenient portion of the window frame by suitable nails,
v screws or the like indicated at 26, this brackl0Y et further includingl a sleeve portion or socket 27 receiving one end of the rod l1. The socket or sleeve is represented as having a'bayonet slot 28 thereinreceiving a lateral lug 29on the rod 11' so that to effect disen gagement of the entire holder from its at-v tachingmember it is lmerely necessary to rotate the device slightly to disengage the lug 29 from the inner end of the bayonet slot so that a subsequent outwardpull will withdraw the rod ,11, from the sleeve or socket. Connection or installation is effect- -ed by thereverse operation.
Inth'e'use of the device it will be seen tha/teit is,V first mounted upon its holderor supporting bracket with theyoke 18 swung y out of engagement with the rod 11 to permit the arm lyto be swung away from the rod 11 intothe position shown by dotted liliesv in Figurel.v The curtain is then placed against the rodlland the arm A15 is swung into. clamping relation to the rod 11, as shown clearly in Figure l, and the yoke 1S reengaged withinthe notch at the end of the. rod. yThe pins penetrate theV curtain and l maintain it in the proper condition so that From the foregoing description and a study of the drawings it Will be apparent that I have thus provided a very simple;
y neat and easily operated device for the purpose specified which will be a saver of time and annoyance in facilitating the proper holding of curtains of all kinds. Naturally,
there are no restrictions or limitations as to the dimensions, material, finish and such details as the rightiisreserved to make ali such' changes intheconstruction vas will not depart rfrom the spirit of the invention or the scope'of the subjoined claims;
Having thus described the invention, l claim:
1. Means for holding taut the lower end of a suspended'curtain comprising an attaching member stationarily mounted at the side -of a window frame, and a clamp detachably connected at one end with said member and including a fixed element and a movable arm disposable against opposite sides of a curtain, and means for holding said arm and fixed element in clamping relation comprisingr a yoke straddlingly pivoted on the arm and having an opening therein engaged upon the fixed element, the fixed element being notched for the reception of the yoke.
2.V A curtain holdback comprising an attaching member adapted to be stationarily mounted at the side of a window frame, a clamp detachably connected with said member and including a relatively fixed element and a movable arm disposable against opposite sides of a curtain, means for holding said arm and fixed element in clamping relation, said attaching member having a sleeve portion formed with a bayonet slot, and a lug on the fixed element of the clamp engaged within said slot.
3. A curtain holdback comprising an att'aching member adapted to be stationarily mounted at the side of a window frame, and a. clamp detachably connected with said member and including a fixed element and a movable arm disposable against opposite sides of a curtain, means for holding said arm and fixed element in clamping relation comprising a yoke pivoted cn the arm and having an opening therein engaged upon th(` fixed element, the fixed element heilig notched for the reception of the yoke, and means normally springing the arm away from the fixed element for holding the yohc within the notch.
ft. A curtain holdback comprising a rod, means for mounting the rod at thc side ot a window frame, a bracket projecting laterally from the rod, an arm pivoted on the bracket and cooperating with the rod to define al clamp1 said bracket having a lug engaged by the arm and tending to spring the same away from the rod, and a retaining element detachably connecting the rod andA arm at the free ends thereof.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature.
