TOOTH-PASTE HOLDER.

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in holders for tooth paste and aims to provide a relatively simple, inexpeir sive, but reliable means whereby a tube of tooth paste, shaving cream, or the like, may be suspended in inverted position, and wherein means is provided for facilitating the rolling of the closed end thereof so as to cause the paste to dischargefrom the tube when required.

A still further and important object is to provide a holder of this character that may be easily secured to the wall of the bathroom and that will appear as an attractive fixture lVith the foregoing and other objects in view as the nature of the invention will be better understood. the same comprises the novel form, combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter more fully described, shown in the accompanying drawing and claimed.

Figure 1 is a front elevation of a holder constructed in accordance with the present invention, a toothpaste tube being disposed as associated therewith, the disclosure being in dotted lines.

Figure 2 is a view partially in side elevadrawing, my novel holder consists of a plate 5 preferably of circular formation and hav ing at its edge a plurality of spaced openings 6 whereby the same may be rigidly secured to the wall by nails, screws or the like. Extending forwardly from the center of this plate 5 is a short arm 7, to the outer end of which is fixed a horizontal spring clamp 8 open at its front side so that the same may be properly expanded to permit a tube of tooth paste or shaving cream to be disposed therein in an inverted condition and at a point slightly spaced from the closed end thereof as suggested by the dotted lines in Figure 1.

Extending vertically from the arm 7 adjacent its rear end is an L-shaped arm 9, the horizontal portion of which extends in spaced parallel relation with the arm 7 and slightly therebeyond as indicated in Figures 2 and 3. Upon the forward end of the horizontal portion of this L-shaped arm 9 is a depending U-shaped bracket 10.

Mounted between the lower ends of the arms of the bracket 10 is a roller 11, the opposite ends of which are formed with short pins mounted within openings in the ends of the arms as per the dotted lines in Figure 1'. One end of the pin at one end of the roller 11 extends outwardly through the adjacent arm of the bracket, and secured on the outer end thereof is a thumb wheel, for the purpose of effecting the rotation of the roller. This roller 11 is provided throughout substantially its entire length with a slot 18 through which the usual flat closed end of a tooth paste or shaving cream tube may be arranged, and obviously when the cap of the tube is removed, a turning of the wheel 12 will cause the closed end of the tube to be wound about the roller for ejecting the paste therefrom.

It will therefore be seen that I have provided a highly novel, simple, and efficient holder for paste tubes that is well adapted for all the purposes heretofore designated, and even though I" have herein shown and described the most preferred embodiment of the invention with which I am at this time familiar, it is nevertheless to be understood that other embodiments may be had and that some departuresmay be had from the form shown without affecting the spirit and seo e of the appended claims.

Having thus described the invention, what I claim is 1. In a device of the class described, abase adapted for attachment to a support, an arm projecting forwardly from the base, a clip carried by the outer end of the arm for receiving a paste tube, a substantially L-shaped arm projecting upwardly from the first-mentioned arm, a substantially U- shaped bracket disposed in an inverted position and carried by the outer end of the horizontal arm of the L-shaped arm, said bracket being disposed directly above and adjacent the tube engaging clip, a roller mounted for rotation between the free ends of the arms of the inverted U-shaped bracket, said roller being formed withv a longitudinal slot to receive the closed end of the tube for winding the tube thereon and discharging the paste therefrom.-

In a device of the class described, a base plate adapted for attachment to a support, an arm projecting forwardly from the center of the base plate a spring clip carried by the outer end of the arm for receiving a paste tube, a substantially L-shaped arin projecting upwardly from the first mentioned arm adjacent the inner end thereof,

the inverted U-shaped bracket being formed with registering openings, a roller, pins projecting from the ends of the roller and receivable within the respective openings in the ends of the arms of the inverted U- shaped bracket whereby the roller .is mounted for rotation between the free ends Ofth-e arms of the bracket, said roller being formed with a longitudinal slot to receive the closed end of the tube for winding the tube thereon and discharging the paste therefrom, one of said pins projecting beyond the outer side of the adjacent arm of the bracket, and a thumb wheel on the outer end of said pin for rotating the shaft.
