My invention relates to a paper roll holder ing is permitted to swing outwardly, as shown for toilet paper rolls and the like. by dotted lines.
The objects of my invention are: The housing is partially cylindrically shaped First, to provide a very compact holder of this to conform substantially to the paper roll class for enclosing the paper roll and one which placed therein, the cylindrical portion 2a Lying 6 is very simple and economical of construction; horizontally and the [back side 217 being open, Second, to provide a device of this class in with the upper portion and the side wallsic fltwhich the roll may be easily replaced, from which ting' against the outer sides of the flanges la. the paper may be easily withdrawn, and which The rear portion of the housing extends below 10 will not readily get out of order; the cylindrical portion, and the side walls of this 10 Third, to provide novel and simple means for portion plvotally support the housing on the rod. directing the free end of the paper downwardly The engaging portions of the upper flange in from the device; and and the housing are provided with interlocking Fourth, to provide novel means for mounting depressions lc and projections 2d, whereby the the holder so that it may be readily removed or housing may be snapped into and heldin a raised detached from the securing means for loading position. 4 V the holder with a new roll. On the inner sides of the side walls 2c are horiwith the above objects in view, I have devised zontal raised portions in which are horizontal v a paper roll holder having certain novel features slots 2e, at the forward, or inner ends thereof go of construction, as will be hereinafter described with respect to the housing. are notches or slight Q in detail and particularly set' forth in the'apdepressions 2/ which are positioned substantially pended claims, reference being had to the ac at the central portions of the side walls 20. The companying drawing which forms a part of this bottoms of the slots and depressions are prefapplication, and to like characters of reference erably flushwith the inner sides of the side walls 26 designating similar parts on the several views of 20. These depressions are oppositely positioned the drawing, in which: and are bearings for bearing pins la at the op- Fig. l is'a partial front elevation and partial posite ends of the roller 4' which supports the section of my paper roll holder in one form paper roll 5. when the housingis shifted about adapted for holding toilet paper, the sectional its pivotal axis to the position shown fragmen- 30 portion being taken on the line l-I ofFlg. 2; tarily by dotted lines, the roller may be readily Q,
' Fig. 2 is a fragmentary section th'ereof taken removed by sliding ,the pins from the slots 2c. at 2-2 of Fig. l; 0n the rod 8 are mounted a plurality of rollers Fig. 3 is a fragmentary section thereof taken 6, such as rubber, which are juxtaposed to or in at 3-4 of Fig. 1; engagement with a wall Id extending forwardly Fig. 4 is a fragme tary sectional elevation, at an angle from the lower edge of the wall plate a similar to Fig. 2, of a slightly modified construc- I, and preferably slightly resilient with respect to the rollers 8. On one end of the rod is a knob m 5 1s a fragmentary action thereof taken '1 for rotating the rollers i when desiring to feed at of the end of the paper downwardly, as shown. 40 Fig. 6 is a perspective view of another slightly The Paper is held between the and (I modified-form; and, 3 wan zfi z g g f the dapmd' g paper mm a e oe. $22 g gf taken The embodiment shown in ms. 4 and 5. a the The paper roll homer shown in 1' 2' and same as that described above except that in this 3 instance the side flanges of the bracket or wall a consists essentially of a supporting bracket I plate I are provided with downwardly inclined and a housing or cover 2. The bracket is in the Slots le forming hook portions into which form of a plate securable in any suitable mantend pm 3, can-18d by d extending inwardly wall, and h at its upper and from theside walls of the housing 2, for remov 5 edges, utward1y ext-ending flange ably locking the housing on the wall plate. locating h 1101151118 which is Positioned In the modified structure shown in Figs. 8 and the same. At the lower ends of the lateral -7, th b k t or wall plate is omitted and the flanges are ears or journals lb through which housing 2 provided on the side walls 20, and adand the lower portions of the side walls of the iacent the rear edges, with laterally extending 55 housing extends a rod 1 about which the housears 0 having slots extending upwardly from u the lower edges for supporting the housing on screws, as shown by dotted lines.
In this modification, there is also provided at the lower end an additional rod I0, parallel to 5 the rod 3, and having thereon rollers H positioned preferably in engagement with the rollers 6, for feeding the paper downwardly.
Though I have shown and described a particular construction, and certain modifications thereof, I do not wish to be limited to this construction, nor to the modifications thereof,-but desire to include in the scope of my invention the construction, combination, and arrangement substantially as set forth in the appended claims.
I claim:
