The main object is to provide a simple and etiicient attachment whiclnwhen placedin operative position upon thei'rame ofthe lantern, will permit the vsainelantern to be used for the various conventional signals.`
One oit the specilic objects is to provide means whereby the colored signal plate may be alternately eXposedand concealed as may be required to give either aclear signaler a colored signal from thejsame lamp.
