UNITED STATES PATENT Orrrc EMIL F. w. EISENMANN, on NEW YORK, N. Y.
IMPROVEMENT IN COMBINED CIGAR-TIP CUTTERS AND WATCH-CHARMS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 164,984, dated June 29, 1875; applies. ion filed a June 5, 1875. I
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EMIL F. W. EISENMANN, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a new and Improved Combined Watch-Gharm and Cigar-Tip Gutter, of which the following is a specification Figure 1 represents a front view, and Fig. 2 a vertical transverse section, of my improved combined watch-charm and cigar-tip cutter.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts.
My invention relates to an elegant article of jewelry that may be worn attached to the watch-chain, combining, with a very ornamental appearance, the advantage of being conveniently used for cutting off the tips of cigars.
The invention cpnsists of the combination of a Watch-charm with a cigar-tip cutting device, applied as hereinafter described.
In the drawing, A represents a charm,
locket, or other watch-chain attachment of suitable size, shape, and ornamentation. The charm has an aperture of the size of the tips usually cut 011", and conically tapering inwardly-extending rims b, that approach nearer to each other attheir lower parts, and leave a space between them for the cutter to pass and the same, the cutter is carried down between the rims and cuts off the tip.
The actuating mechanism is preferably in.- closed so as to be out of view, which makes the appearance of the article heater and more attractive, While the combination forms an article of neat appearance, and considerable utility to smokers.
Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent A WfltClLGhtFD] locket, having the cigar-ti p cutter applied in the manner substantially as and for the purpose described.
EMIL F. W. EISENMANN.
