Description

J. H. @ALL Q'RDHOLDING MUNTIN CLASP Filed Nov. 24. 192s Peirnated Nov. 8, 1927.
PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN HENRY BALL, 0F KIRKWOOD, MISSOURI.
CARD-HOLDING LIUNTIN CLASP.
. Application filed November 24, 1926.
My invention relates to card holding muntin clasps and its object is to provide an improved form of clasp or device for holding price cards which shall be adapted to be positioned on the muntin of a window in such a manner as not to interfere with the opening and closing thereof.
With the above and other objects in view my invention consists in the combination and arrangement of parts hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that, within the scope of what is claimed, changes in the precise embodiment shown may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention.
In the drawing:
Figure l is a perspective view of my invention in use.
Figure 2 is a side view thereof.
Figure 3 is an elevation of the invention. p Referring now more particularly to the dra-wings, the preferred embodiment of my invention as shown in Figure l comprises a clasp formed from a resilient sheet 1, as of metal, having its terminal portions 4 right angularly bent so as to be in extensile spaced relation, the width of the spacing being substantially equal to the width of a muntin 3 of a window, and having the end portions 2 thereof bent right angularly towards each other so as to form opposing clasping members, substantially so as to thereby be adapted to clasp the muntin 3 of a window whereby the device may be positioned thereon. In order that the device may be adapted to readily clasp muntins of various widths, arcuate corrugations 6 are formed mediately the sheet and at the point of bending as at 5 of the terminal portions thereof, substantially so as to extend the spaced relat-ion of the terminal portions without destroying the clasping effect thereof.
In the embodiment shown in Figure l,
a card holding device 7 is positioned mediately the outer side of one of the terminal portions, the said card holding device comprising a resilient sheet, as of metal, bent medially upon itself, as at 8, and having Serial No. 150,425.
its ends bent right angularly towards each fr other so as to form opposing clasping members 9, substantially so as to thereby be adapted to clasp a card 10, such as a price card, or the like.
In the use of my invention, the clasp is positioned on the muntin of a. window, whereby the whole body of the holder is adapted to be positioned on the said window so as to be substantially inside the line of the sash 11 thereof, such that no obstruction will be offered to the movement of one sash relative to the other.
I claim:
1. In a device of the kind described, a clasp comprising a resilient sheet having its terminal port-ions right angularly bent so as to be in eXtensile spaced relation; the end portions of the said terminal portions being bent right angularly towards each other so as to form opposing clasping members; an arcuate corrugation formed mediately of the said sheet; arcuate corrugations formed at the point of bending of the said terminal portions; and means for positioning a price card on the said clasp.
2. In a device of the kind described, a clasp comprising a resilient sheet having its terminal portions right angularly bent so as to be in extensile spaced relation; the end portions of the said terminal portions being bent right angularly towards each other so as to form opposing clasping members; an arcuate corrugation formed mediately of the said sheet; arcuate corrugations formed at the point of bending of the said terminal portions; a card holding device positioned mediately the outer side of one of the terminal portions, the said card holding device comprising a resilient sheet bent medially uponl itself, and having its ends bent right angularly towards each other so as to form opposing clasping members; whereby the said clasp is adapted to be positioned on the muntin of a window, and a price card positioned in the said card holding device.
In testimony whereof I aiiiX my signature.
