ADVERTISING NOVELTY.
Application filed July 31, 1925.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LoUIs F. CLEMnNrs, a citizen of the United States, residing at Kansas City, in the county of Jackson and State of Missouri, have invented a new and useful Advertising Novelty, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to advertising novcities and the object thereof is to provide a cheaply constructed attractive device of this character having means for detachably supporting an advertising card or other indicia.
Vvith the foregoing and other objects in view which will appear as the description proceeds, the invention resides in the combination and arrangement of parts and in the details of construction hereinafter described and claimed, it being understood that changes in the precise embodiment of the invention herein disclosed may be made within the scope of what is claimed without departing from the spirit of the invention.
In the accompanying drawings Figure 1 represents a plan view of the blank from which this novelty is constructed;
Figure 2 is a similar view showing the completed article; I
Figure 3 is a side elevation thereof; and
Figure & is a transverse-section taken on the line 4-4 of Figure 3.
The blanks from which these articles are made are struck out in the form of a fire fiy as shown in Figure 1 in which a substantial-- the tail member 5 of Figure 2.
Serial No. 47,334.
Extending laterally from the side edges of the body are tongues l which are designed to be bent inward on the completed device to form card supports as shown clearly in Figures 3 and at.
The blank shown in Figure 1 is struck out of thin sheet metal and is designed to be placed in a die to have the lines 6 and 7 formed thereon and the square end 3 rolled to form the tail member 0 and the body ing matter.
By constructing this article as shown and described it is made extremely light and can be cheaply manufactured and the cards 10 may be readily removed and others substituted when desired.
I claim A device of the class described struck out from a sheet of metal and bent to form an elongated body open at its lower face and having inturned card securing clamping fingers along its side edges. and with a rolled tall at one end and a head at the other.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own, I have hereto afiixed my signature.
LOUIS F. OLEMENTS.
