This invention relates to dolls, more particularly to the pedestal or standing type, and has for its ob ect to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a doll of such class including a doll body supporting pedestal of appropriate height to which a waist or one or more skirts, made from paperor other desirable material, can be secured, thereby permitting of the doll to be conveniently dressed when desired and further to provide a doll having the appearance of an infant doll with an elongated skirt or skirts. I

Further objects of the invention are to provide, in a manner as hereinafter set forth, a doll of the pedestal or standing type ca- Jabl'e of bein em lo ed as a cover for a telephone pedestal.

Further objects of the invention are to provide, in a manner as hereinafter forth, a doll of the pedestal or standing type which is pleasing in appearance, conveniently dressed, strong, including a support or pedestal of a material to which the clothes for the doll can be readily secured therewith by stitching, and comparatively inexpensive to manufacture.

With the foregoing and other objects in view, the invention consists of the novel construction, combination and arrangement of parts as hereinafter more specifically de-' scribed, and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein is shown an embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, variations and modifications can be resorted to which fall within the scope of the claims hereunto appended.

The doll in accordance with this invention, includes a hollow frusto-conical pedestal 6 formed from any suitable material possessing the desired rigidity, but further possessing a characteristic to permit of the waist 10 at the upper end of the pedestal 6.

skirts are of different lengths and the skirt 7 is secured to the upper end of the pedestal 6 and overlaps the skirt 4. The skirt 4 depends below the skirt 3 and overlaps the skirt '5 and the'skirt5 extends to the lower end of the pedestal 6 and depends below the bottom edge of the skirt 4. Supported bythe pedestal 6 is adoll body'lO of the infant type and which comprises a head portion 11, a' pair of outstretched arms 12, 13 a body portion 14 and a pair of legs 15, only one of these latter is shown. The lower part of the body portion 14 of the doll body 10 is engaged by the upper end of the pedestalo whereby the doll body 10 will be supported by the pedestal 6 and extend thereabove; The waist 1 includes straps 16 which extend across the shoulders of the doll body 10 and are secured to the pedestal.

Preferably the pedestal 6 is constructed from card board of the desired thickness and the upper portion thereof snugly engages height and diameter and can be employed as a covering for a telephone pedestal or other ob ect which 18 of a size to be enclosed by said pedestal 6. What I claim is 1. A doll comprising a hollow pedestal open at its top, a dollbody mounted in and supported fr 121 the top of the latter and further extended upwardly therefrom, a waist mounted on the doll body above and connected to said pedestal, and a skirt secured to and sin-rounding the pedestal. V

2. A doll comprising a hollow pedestal open at its top, a doll body mounted in and supported from the top of the latter and further extended upwardly therefrom, a waist mounted on the doll body above and connected to said pedestal, a skirt secured to and surrounding the pedestal, said pedest-al being of frusto-conical contour.

3. A doll comprising a hollow pedestal open at its top, a doll body mounted in and supported from the top of the latter and further extended upwardly therefrom, a waist mounted on and extended over the shoulders 01"- the doll body and surrounding the upper end ot the pedestal, a plurality of skirts of different lengths arranged around the pedestal, said skirts depending from each other, and means for independently securing each skirt to the pedestah the means for independently securing the upper skirt to the pedestal turther securing the lower end of the waist to the pedestal.

A doll comprising a hollow pedestal open at its top, a doll body mounted in and supported from the top of the latter and further extended upwardly therefrom, a waist mounted on and extended over the shoulders of the doll body and surrounding the upper end of the pedestal, a plurality of skirts of different lengths arranged around the pedestal, said skirts depending "from each other, means for independently seour ing each skirt to the pedestal, the means for independently securing the upper skirt to the pedestal further securing the lower end of the waist to the pedestal, and said pedestal being of frusto-con'ical shape.

A doll comprising an open top hollow frusto-conical rigid pedestal, 'a doll body of less height than the pedestal and partly extended into the top' of the latter, a skirt encompassing the pedestal and having its lower end extending to the bottom 01 the aedestal, means for securing the skirt to the pedestal, a waist mounted on the doll body and secured at its lower end to the pedestal.

A doll comprising an open top hollow trusto-conical rigid pedestal, a. flaring inner skirt encompassing and of less height than the height of the pedestal and further having its bottom flush with the bottom of the-lat-' ter, means for securing the top of the skirt to the pedestal, a flaring intermediate skirt encompassing the pedestaland inner skirt and having its lower end, positioned above the lower end of the latter, said intermediate skirt having its top positioned between the top of the inner skirt and pedestal top, means for securing the intermediate skirt to the pedestal, a flaring outer skirt encompassing the pedestal and intermediate skirt and having its bottom positioned above the bottom of the latter and its top arranged at the pedestal top, a doll body of less height than the pedestal and partly extending into the top of the latter, a waist carried by the doll body, and means common to the bottom 01? the waist and the top oi the outer skirt for securing them to the top of the pedestal.

A doll body comprising an open top hollow pedestal of conoidal contour, said pedestal formed of rigid material, a doll body having its lower portion extending into the top of the pedestal, said doll body of less height than the height of the pedestal, a waist mounted on the doll body and having its lower end surrounding the top of the pedestal, overlapping skirts encompassing the pedestal, means independent of an inner skirt for securing the outer skirt to the pedestal, said waist having 'its lower end overlappingthe top of the outer skirt, and means common to the lower end of the waist and top of the outerskirt for securing them to the pedestal top. a
