This invention relates generally to receptacles for lubricants, and has more particular reference to a recpetacle that is constructed for disposition upon the shoulders of a workman, and from which leads a discharging hose in order that the lubricant may be readily carried from engine to eng ne in an oil field without any liability of dirt or water entering the receptacle which would effect the operation of the machines receiving the lubricant.

In oil fields wherein there is used a large number of gasoline or other types of engines for operating the drilling and pumping rig, it is the usual procedure for a workman to go from engine to engine with an open bucket of oil in his hand and pour the lubricant into the various lubricant cups. This is very impractical and harmful, mainly due to the fact that rain and dirt Will pass into the open buckets or containers, resulting in damage to the machinery lubricated.

By reason of the present inventlon, the receptacle which is of closed constructlon may be readily disposed upon the shouldersof the workmen and secured thereto permitting the workmen to go from machine to machine and properly lubricate the same with the assurance that the lubricant has not become fouled by water or dirt.

Now having particular reference to the drawing my novel invention consists of an oil receptacle 5 of yoke formation so that the same may be supported readily upon the shoulders of a workman, the ends of the receptacle being curved at their bottom sides and provided with shoulder pads 66 so as to conform to the curvature of the workmans shoulders, and to prevent the bruising of the shoulders. This receptacle 5 is provided at its top side with a normally closed filler neck 7, while leadin from one end of the receptacle is a conveying hose 8, the end of which is equipped with a suitable valve nozzle 9. 1

Depending from the receptacle 5 intermediate the'ends thereof is a bracket plate 10 to which is pivoted as at 11 the upper end of a rigid arm 12 that contacts the back of the workman, and to the lower ends of which are connected straps 13l3 adapted for engagement around the waist of the workman and to be interconnected at their front ends by buckle connections 14. At the front side of the workman these straps 13-13 are provided with loops 15-15 inwardly of the buckle connection between the straps and to which are connected vertically extending straps 16-16 which are in turn connected at their upper ends to loops 1717 upon the ends of the receptacle 5, said straps and arm 12 serving to properly secure the receptacle upon the workmans shoulders as clearly indicated in Figures 1 and 2.

The end of the receptacle opposite to that to which the hose 8 is attached is further provided with a hanger 18 for supporting the nozzle end of the hose when the same is not in use.

It will thus be seen that I have provided a highly novel, simple, and efficient means whereby lubricant may be properly transported and wherein this lubricant may be properly directed into the oil cups of an engine, and even though I have herein shown and described the invention as consisting of certain detail structural elements it is nevertheless to be understood that minor chan 'es may be made in the invention without ceparting from the spirit and scope of the appended claim.
