IMPROVEMENT IN HAND JELLY-PRESSES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 163,210, dated May 11, 1875 application filed March 22, 1875.
CASE 1.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, VIoToR KNEOHT, of Cincinnati, Hamilton county, State of Ohio, have invented an Improvement in Hand Jelly- Presses, of which the following is a specification:
My invention is designed as an improvement on the hand jelly-press for which Letters Patent N 0. 141,809 Were granted to J. M. Newton, August 12, 1873; and consists in such a construction of the cylinder and its base-plate that the cylinder is thereby made detachable, for the purpose of enabling the operator to remove the cylinder, empty the pressed fruit therefrom, and, when necessary, conveniently clean the vessel.
The accompanying drawing is a vertical section of my improved press.
A is the cylinder; B, the base-plate; O, the supporting-handle; D, the central screw; E,
the screw-handle, and F the follower.
The handle E and the follower are united by a peculiar device of mine, which is the subject of a separate application for Letters Patcut.
The cylinder A, in place of being united to the base-plate B permanently, as heretofore, I make detachable by providing it with a bottom, a, of its own, through which a hole is made for the passage of the screw D.

I claim- The base B, provided with fixed handle 0 and central screw-spindle D, in combination with the detachable cylinder A, having a bottom, a, follower F, and screw handle E, all substantially as and for the purpose specified.
