The object ot my invention is the providing a securing and adjusting means to attach a mouthpiece to a mouthpipe ci a wind instrument, especially the saxophone.
A further object of my invention an improved adjusting bit or sleeve in the adjustment of the relative positions oi the mouthpipe and mouthpiece of wind instruments.
A further object of my invention is an improved securing means of, attaching and securinga mouthpiece to a musical instrument. i'
A. further object of my invention is an improved means of making tight, both air and mechanically, a mouthpiece on a musical instrument.
Vilith the :foregoing and other objects in view, my invention consists oi the novel construction, combination ald arrangement oi.I parts as hereinafter specifically described and illustrated. in the accompanyingdrawing, wherein is shown the preferred embodiment oi my invention, but it is understood that changes, variations and modifications can he resorted to which come within the scope et the claims hereunto appended.

Fig. 2 is a view of the same parts as shown in Fig. l assembled in opi tive position, shown partly in section. Fig'. 3 is a sectional view taken through --S ot Fig', 2; and 4 shows a modiiied torni oi2 attaching the mouthpiece.

l is the mouthpiece of a musical instrument provided, as is usual, with a 'tapered end, omitting, however, the resilient or corlr sleeve. 2 is the adjusting sleeve or covering preferably tapered on the inside to tit the mouthpipe l and cylindrical on the outside to permit securing means or mouthpiece sleeve 3 of the mouthpiece attachment to be slid upon the same and adjusted in any position thereof and secured. il is the mouthpiece which is secured in this case by attaching` means 5. 6 is a washer to make the joint tight between attaching means 5 and mouthpiece 4. Attaching means 3 and 5 are provided with pairs of lugs 7 and 8 Serial No. 712,595.
