Description

M. A. KLEIN BOTTLE April 19, 1927. 1 ,625,728
Filed Jan. 18, 1923 Mid 447M ATTORNEY Patented Apr. 19, 1927.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
BOTTLE.
Application filed January 18, 1923.
This invention relates to bottles or analogous containers, and an object of the invention is primarily to provide a bottle which cannot possibly be mistaken for any other bottle, and also to provide a bottle for containing poison, which bottle is of such construction that it will preclude accidental taking of poison for some other medicine.
Another object of this invention is to provide a bottle as specified in which the neck extends transversely from the body, and the body is polygonal shaped in cross section having its ends rounded so as to prevent any possibility of the standing of the bottle on either of its ends requiring it to lie or rest fiat upon the support.
Other objects of the invention will appear in the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawings wherein Fig. 1 is a side elevation of the improved bottle.
Fig. 2 is an end elevation of the bottle.
Fig. 3 is a cross section on the line 3-3 of Fig. 1.
Referring more particularly to the drawings, the improved bottle comprises a body 1 which is polygonal shaped in cross section being preferably a rectangular. The corners of the body '1 are beveled or cut away as shown at 2, and the sides 3 have raised letters 4 thereon. The ends 5 of the bottle are rounded as clearly shown in Fig. 1 of the drawings so as to prevent any possibility of the bottle being stood upon either of its ends and consequently so as to prevent its being mistaken for a medicine bottle or any other type of bottle. The ends 5 preferably have raised letters 6 thereon and if it is so desired Serial No. 613,502.
a skull and cross bones 7 may be raised or 4 anyone taking hold 01' the bottle in the darkness of the fact that the bottle contains poison, which accident will further be augmented by the peculiar shape of the bottle. The body 1. has a neck 8 formed integrally thereon which projects laterally or rises upwardly from the body at one end. The neck opens out transversely of the body 1.
It is, of course, to be understood that the invention may be constructed in other manners and the parts associated in different relations and, therefore, I do not desire to be limited in any manner except as set forth in the claim hereunto appended.
Having thus described my invention what I claim is In a bottle comprising an elongated body normally positioned in a longitudinal plane and resting on one of the side walls of the body when in an inoperative position and formed substantially rectangular in cross section and having its longitudinal .edge portions bevelled, one of the end walls of said body being rounded, and a neck defined by the body, the other of the end walls of the body being curved outwardly and in wardly with. respect to the body and. merging into the wall of the neck whereby said body may be rolled upon said other end portion to dispose the neck in substantially a.
horizontal plane, substantially as described.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature.
MICHAEL A. KLEIN.
