the pressing action will take place at the end of the tube. I
Another object of the invention is to pro- Vide means for closing the outlet end of'the tube by a slide on the cabinet whenithe device is not in use. a v
This invention also consists. in certain other features 'of' construction ,and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts, to be hereinafter fully described, il-
lustrated in the accompanying drawings and specifically pointed out in the appended claim.
In describing my invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawings wherein like characters denote like 101' corresponding parts throughout the several views, and in which Figure 1 is a erspective view of the invention with the inged part swung down to expose the tube and its holding and ejector parts.
Figure 2 is a bottom net.
Figure '3 is a section on the line 33.of Figure 1.
Figure 4 is a view of the ejector means. 1 Figure 5 is a plan view of such means.
Figure 6 is a'section on line 6 6 of Figure 1. a
In these views, 1 indicates a cabinet which is provided with a perforated ear 2-by whlch it may be fastened to the wall of a room. A
plan view of the cabiside 3 of the cabinet is hinged at its lower end, as shown at 4, so that it can be swung part .12 which engages. thewjall to open position, as, shown 1n Figure 1.- It is held closed bya suitable latch 5 at its up per end engaging a keeper 6 at the top of the cabinet. A bracket 7 is fastenedj'to the inner face of the side 3, adjacent-its lower end, and said bracket is formed with a s ring,
loop 8 which, may :be clamped aroun the mouth of a tube such as A, by means of the bolt 9. An elongated slot 10 is formed in the side 3 and a member. 11 h rounded the member being supported"therein by means of a disc 13 formed on the member to one side of the part 12 and a knurled disc 14 which is threaded to the member on the other side of the part 12. Thus the discs 13'and.
14 engage opposite faces, of the side 3 with the art 12 in the slot so that the part is slida 1y arranged in the slot. A movable member 15- is pivoted to the inner end of the member'll and these members are adapted to hold the flat end ofthe tube A between them. The member 15 is clamped to the member 11 by the latch member 16 whichis pivoted .to the memberll. A hole 17 is formed in. the bottom of the cabinet and when the side" 3 is in closed position the mouth of the tube will register with said hole with its outer part flush, or substantially so, with the lower facetof the cabinet. A slide 18 is held to the lower face of the cabinet by the tongues 19 and when the slot is in closed position it will close the mouth of the tube.
Thus when some of theecontents of the tube is to be used the slide 18 is pulled outwardly to uncover the opening 17 and the mouth of the tube.- Then the knurled disc 14, which is exposed, is turned to rotate the members 11 and 15 and thus wind on said members 'a' portion of the tube; which will act to eject some of the contents of the tube therefrom throu h the opening :17 upon the brush or other 0 ject placedaunder the cabinet. Then the slide 18 is closed; By this arrangement the ejectin the end of the tube and't as the cap is taken off and the slide ,18 use action is always at;
I e tube is wound up" by the device. The entire tube is held withas a'cover. The holding bracket 7 will hold I ditferent'si'zes of tubes. With this inventionthe'tube is always at hand and some of ItS'GODtGDtSQaD be easily the-tube has been emptied it can be removed front the device and a new one substituted. It is. thought from the foregoin jdescrip on that the advantages and nove features the slot,
parts, provided that suc changes fall within the scopeof the appended claim: f
and quickly placed" on abrush without handling the tube. After Having described the invention, I claim A device of the class described com rising a cabinet having-a hinged side an an opening in its bottom, 5 opening, a bracket on the hinged side having a, spring loop portion forengaging the mouth ofa tube, means for contracting the loop portion around said mouth of tie tube, a member. rotatably and slidably arranged in a slide closing the.
the slot witha handle part arranged on the 10 outer face of the hinged side, a second member hinged to the first and arranged to clamp the flat end of a tube between itself and the first member, and a latch member for holding the members in clamping relation. 7
In testimony whereof I aifix my signature.
FRANCIS PIERCE DROHAN.
