My invention relates to toilet articles and more in particular to a toilet set holding in combination a collapsible tube of tooth-paste and a w ll-br s The present invention has for its chief object to produce such a set of compact design and so constructed that both the tooth-brush and the tooth-paste will always be ready for instant use andwhen not in use will be kept together free from contamination and dust in a closed outer casing.

Another object of my invention is to provide for the tooth-brush and the tube of tooth-paste a movable holder slidably disposed in the outer casing to permit easy access to both the toothbrush and the tube of tooth-paste.

A further object of this invention is to so suspend the tube of: tooth-paste in the movable holder, that a portion of the tooth-paste can be readily squeezed out, without the tube having to be removed from its place.

Another object of my invention is to so design the outer casing enclosing the movable holder that the cover of the casing when in closed position will at the same time constitute a tight seal for the tube of tooth-paste preventing any accidental escape of the tooth-paste and contamination thereof.

Another object of this invention is to so design the movable holder that any type of toothrbrush, whether having a straight or curved handle, can be readily accommodated.

A still further object of the present invention is to provide a means on the casing for preventing. complete detachment therefrom of the movable holder.

Still another object of this invention is to so design the cover of the casing that when removed from its closing position to give access to the tooth-brush and tooth-paste, it can be placed over the other end of the casing to prevent it from becoming misplaced or lost.

Other objects will appear from the following detailed description of my invention with reference to the appended drawing, in which, for the sake of illustration, I have shown a preferred embodiment of the invention, and in which Fig. l is an outside view of the outer casing with the cover thereof in place; Fig. 2 is a view similar to Fig. 1 with a portion of the casing and its cover being broken away to show the toothbrush and tooth-paste and a portion of the movable holder, when fully enclosed in the casing. Fig. 3 is a View of the movable holder and the tooth-brush and tooth-paste suspended therein.

The casing, which is preferably made of thin metal but which may also be made of any other suitable material, e. g. Bakelite, may be of any de- 10 sired cross-section, viz. round, oval, rectangular, square, hexagonal, or any other convenient cross-section. The cover Zis made to fit the casing having a snug fit so that it will not accidentally become detached and drop off. At 3 in Fig, 1 is shown a bead formed on the outside of the casing, which bead constitutes a stop for the cover as the. same is pushed into closed position. Enclosed in the casing is a holder 4 for a tooth-brush and a collapsible tube of toothpaste. Said holder shown in Fig. 3 is in the shape of a skeleton frame, comprising a hollow bottom part 5 preferably of a cross-section corresponding to that of the casing I and an elongated narrow part 6.- When the casing l is of round or oval cross-section, the said elongated part 6 is of curved outline, as shown in Fig. 3. From the upper end of said elongated part 6 there projects inwardly a thin flat plate indiplate 1 is provided with a round hole 8 and two slots 9 and I0, which are shown in Fig. 4 as straight slots, but which may be also slightly curved.

At II is shown a collapsible tube of toothpaste, thethreaded neck ofwhich tube fits the hole 8 in the thin plate I and projects upwardly through said hole to receive a perforated screw cap shown at l2. The central hole l3 in the screw cap- [2 is in alignment with the bore in the threaded neck of the tube ll so that upon pressure being applied to the lower end of the tube, tooth-paste will be squeezed out through the hole l3 in the screw-cap I2.

At I4 is indicated a tooth-brush which in Fig. 3 is shown with a straight handle. The free end of this handle fits, and projects through, the slot in in the thin plate 1, thus being held therein, while the brush portion of the tooth-brush rests on the bottom of the hollow bottom part 5 of the holder 4.

When instead of a tooth-brush having a straight handle, a tooth-brush having a curved handle is used, the free end of the handle will be inserted into slot 9 of the thin plate I.

At I in Fig. 3 is shown a flat disk, of cork or any other suitable material, which forms a lining for the inner end of the cover 2 and which upon the latter being entirely pushed into closing position onto the casing I will bear directly against the hole l3 in screw cap I2 so as to tightly seal the tube of tooth-paste thus pre venting its contents from drying up or escaping from the tube.

At IS in Fig. 1 is shown a slight indentation in the wall of the outer casing, and a similar indentation will be provided in the casing on the opposite side. The object of these indentations will immediately be clear, when it is borne in mind, that the holder 4 is slidably disposed within the outer casing, so that upon the latter be ing tilted, the holder will slide forward from the casing. The holder, however, will be prevented from completely dropping out of the casing by the said indentations, as these form stops for the upper rim of the hollow bottom part 5 of the holder. The indentations, one of which is shown at It in Fig. 1, are so placed, that the major portion of the holder 6 will slide forward from the tilted casing, after its cover 2 has first been removed to enable the user of the device to remove the tooth-brush and to squeeze out from the tube ii a portion of the tooth-paste.

The casing l is made of uniform diameter throughout its entire length so that the cover 2, after it has been pulled off can be placed over the bottom end of the casing so that it will not become niislaid or lost. 7

Instead of the cover 2 for the outer casing being made to have a snug fit on the casing as shown in Fig. 1, a cover like that shown at I! in Fig. 6 may be used, which near its outer edge is provided with a few female screw threads If; permitting the cover to be screwed into position. In that case, of course, corresponding male screw threads must be provided on the periphery of the outer casing at such a place that upon the cover I"! being entirely screwed home, its inner lining-similar to the lining shown at if in Fig. 2-will closely bear against the hole l3 in screw-cap I2 so as to tightly seal the same.

It is obvious that my invention also can be used for providing a shaving set, in which event,

instead of a tube of tooth-paste a similar tube of shave cream would be secured by the cap 12 in the thin plate 1, whereas the shave brush would be received in the bottom part 5 of the holder 4, in which bottom part would be provided a clip l9, as shown by the dotted lines in Fig. '7, for gripping the shave brush to prevent it from tumbling about in the holder 4.

In its bottom, and preferably also in its cover, the casing is provided with one or more small ventilating holes, as for instance shown at 20 in Fig. 1.

While I have shown and described a preferred embodiment of my invention, obviously it is capable of various changes and modifications without a departure from the essence of the invention.

I claim:

1. In combination, a hollow casing, a frame slidably disposed in said casing and comprising a bottom part, an elongated part extending therefrom in alignment therewith and a plate inwardly projecting from the free end of said elongated part at right angles thereto and having a hole therein for the reception of the threaded neck of a tube of tooth paste, or the like, and also having a slot to receive the free end of the handle of a tooth-brush, or the like, a screw-cap having a central bore to engage the threaded neck of the tube of tooth-paste, or the like, and a cover for said hollow casing of a length to close tightly over the central bore in said cap when in closed position on said casing.

2. In combination, a hollow casing, a frame slidably disposed in said casing and comprising a bottom part, an elongated part extending therefrom in alignment therewith, and a plate inwardly projecting from the free end of said elongated part at right angles thereto and having a hole therein for the reception of the threaded neck of a tube of tooth paste, or the like, and also having slots to receive the free end of the handle of a tooth-brush, or the like, a screw-cap having a central bore to engage the threaded neck of the tube of tooth paste, or the like, a cover for said hollow casing of a length to close tightly over the central bore in said cap when in closed position on said casing, and a means on the latter for preventing the complete detachment of said frame from said casing.

3. In combination, a tubular hollow casing closed at one end, a frame slidably disposed in said casing and comprising a tubular bottom part, an elongated part of curved outline extending from said bottom part in alignment therewith, and a thin plate inwardly projecting from the free end of said elongated part at right angles thereto and having a hole therein for the reception of the threaded neck of a tube of tooth paste, or the like, and also having slots to receive the free end of the handle of a tooth brush, or the like, a screw-cap having a central bore to engage the threaded neck of the tube of tooth paste, or the like, and a tubular cover for said casing having a snug fit thereon and of a length to close tightly over the central bore in said cap when in closed position on said casing, the latter having indentations near its open end to act as stops for the bottom part of said frame, to prevent its complete detachment from said casing.
