Referring to the accompanying drawing by numerals. 1 indicates the body of a vanity case and 2 a cover or lid hinged thereto. The detail construction of the vanity case forms no part of the present invention eX- cept in its association with the ejector hereinafter fully described. However, it will be noted that the lid 2 is provided with a pressed out portion 3 for receiving the hook torming part of the catch The catch 5 is provided with button 6 extending through. a suitable aperture? in body 1 and is also provided with spring sections 8 and 9. The spring sect-ions 8 and 9 press against the annular'compact holder 10 which is provided with pressed out resilient portions llfor resiliently holding the compact plate 12 in place. The members 11 act as holders so that the compactplate cannot accidentally fall out, though these members will yield when pressure is exerted on the plate to move'the same toward the lid 2. Adjacent the button 6 the holder 10 is provided with an opening 13 through which the eject-V ing strip 14 extends. The parts are so proportioned that strip 14 will be bowed upwardly suificiently to raise the compact plate 12 out of engagement with the resilient holders.
From the construction set forth, it will be observed that when button 6 is pressed somewhat, the catch hook 1 will be disengaged for permitting lid 2 to be swung to an open position. If the button 6 is pressed inwardly as far as possible, not only will the lid 2 be released but the strip 14 will be bowed sufficiently to eject the compact plate 12 whereby/a new one may be provided. As soon as the button 6 has been released it will move back to its original position and also the resilient strip 14 will move back to its original position. This will allow a new compact to be snapped beneath the members 11' without adjusting any of the parts.
What I claim is: a
1. In a compact ejector for vanity cases provided with a compact holder arranged in the case and positioned to receive and nor. mally retain the compact, a resilient ejector strip slidingly mounted in the lower part of said holder and beneath said compact with one end near part of said casing, and manually actuated means acting on the other end for moving said strip longitudinally and thereby bowing said strip whereby the same will force said compact out of engagement with said holder. r r
2. In a compact ejector for vanity cases provided with a body, a lid, and a catch, a strip extending from near one side'to the opposite side of a said body, said strip being adapted to be positioned beneath a compact arranged in said body, and means forming 11 part of the catch for pressing against one end of said strip for forcing the other end against said body and thereby bowing the strip substantially centraly for ejecting the compactarranged in said body. a

A'vanity caseadapted to receive a compact including a body, a lidhinged to said body, a catch for said lid having a button and; spring members, arr-ejecting strip arranged 'beneath saidcompact and with one end in the pathof movement of said spring members, and the other end adjacent the body at the diametrically opposite side, and means for guiding said strip when moved longitudinally.whereby whensaid body and spring members are pressed inwardly a pre determined distance, said strip will be pressed against the said body and bowed sufiiciently for ejecting said compact.
5. In a vanity case provided with a thumb operated catch and a compact holding ring structure adapted to receive and normally reta n a compact, an e ector slidingly mounted in said r1ng structure and positioned beneath said'compact, said ejector including astrip of resilient metal having a stiliened end adapted to engage the body of the case, and a looped end adapted to be engaged by said I catch whereby when said catch is pressed inwardly an extreme distance the spring will be bowed for ejecting said compact.
