This invention relates to alconcrete Wall form construction, and has for its object to provide, in a manner as hereinafter setv f provides for a material saving in expenses ov-er'the employment of Wooden frames or forms as a material portion of these latter are discarded after' the erection ofthe y, building.
Further objects of the invention .are to provide, in a manner as vhereinafter set forth, an all metal concrete Wall form Which is comparatively simple in construction and arrangement, strong, durable, thoroughly efficient in its use, conveniently erected, comparatively inexpensive to set up andprovidf ing for a material saving in expense With* respect tothe known forms nouT generally employed.
With the foregoing and other objects in vierv,the invention consists of the novel construction, combination and arrangementv of parts, as hereinafter more specifically described andillustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein is shown an embodiment of the invention, but it is to be understood that changes, variations and modifications can be resorted to Which fall Within' the scope of the claims hereunto appended.

An all metal concrete form, in accordance with this invention, includes outer Wall units termed jouter Wall panelsy and inner Wall units, termed inner Wallp'anels. The outer Wall panels are arranged in sets and the sets correspond in number to the number of outer Walls. The flange 9 includesy a horizontally disposed leg 14 which corresponds in contour to the contour of the leg 10 and said flange further includes a vertically disposed up` standing leg 15 at the outer end of the Vleg 14. The flanges 8 and 9 are angle shaped in cross section and are oppositely disposed with respect to each other. Extending outwardly from each side of the plate 6 is a pair of flanges 16 and 17 which are oppo-y sitely disposed with respect to each other, overlapthe outer face of the plate, land each of which is formed with a rounded inner portion 18 and an outer portion 19 disposed at an, angle with respect to the portion 18 and. whichy opposes and is arranged in parallelismy withrespect to the outer face of the plate 6, but spaced therefrom.
' `The flanges 8, 9, 16 and 17 provide means for coupling with the panel a retaining or backing plate therefory and the latter consists of a ycorrugated metallic plate 19. The
corrugations of the plate 19` extend lengthwise thereof, as indicated at 20 and said plate 19 when positioned between the flanges of the panel extend from the flange 8 to the flange 9 and from the flange 16 tothe flange y 35.
17 The plate 19 acts as a means for reinforcing the plate 6 of the panel to prevent the bending or bulging of the latter by the weightor rather body of concrete 21 when the latter is supplied to the wall-forming cavity 3. The flanges 16 and 17 confine the plate 19 in its corrugated state or in other words prevent the expanding of the plate 19when mounted in position with respect` to its associated panel. p
Interposed between the panels forming the outer wall of the form, or the panels forming the inner wall olthe form, is a verdisposedy with respect to the side posts employed with the inner wall ofthe form. As the several side posts are ofthe same construction, but one will be described as the description of one will apply to the other. The position yof a side post with respect to the outer wall of the form is clearly shown in Figure 2 and it is Yof a height to extend 'from the bottom to the topof a wall panel.
Eachside post consists of a channel bar 23 opening outwardly and kformed with a pair of oppositely disposed laterally extending flanges 24. Secured to the channel bar 23 is a rectangular metallic strip 25 of the same length as the length of the bar. The Width of the strip25 corresponds to the combined width ofthe body portion and flanges of the bar. The strip 25 opposes the flanges 24 and provides in connection with these latter a pair of loppositely disposed pockets 26 for receiving the opposed sides of a pair of wall panels, see Figure 1. The strip 25 when a wall of' the form is set up is arranged within thewall cavity 3. The flanges 24 Vare positioned exteriorly of the wall cavity 3. The flanges 24 also provide abutments for bracing units to be presently referred to. Each side ypost is formed with spaced pairs of vertically extending slots. The yslots of each pair are indicated at 27, 28. The slot 27 is of greater length than the slot l28 and is arranged above but in proximity to the slot 28. The pairs of slots of aside post in an outer' wall of the form oppose the pairs of slots in a side post in the inner wall of f the form. The function of the pairs of slots will be presently referred to. The pairs of slots are formed at the vertical median of the strips 25. and at the vertical median of the closed inner side of the bar 23. l
The form further includes voutside corner post units and inside corner post units. The
outside corner posts are indicated generally f by t-he reference character 29 and the inside corner posts are indicated generally by the reference character 30. Each outside corner post consists of an outer an lcshaped bar 31 and an inner angle-shape ar 32. Each bar is in the form of a corner ironv and consists of two legs extending at .right angles with respect to each other. The bar 31 is of the samel length as the bar 32 and each corner post is of the same height as a wall panel or side post. The bar 31 is fixedly secured against the outer face of the bar 32 by the hold fast devices 33.
Each leg of the bar 31 consists, in cross section, of a pair of end portions disposed in spaced parallel planes and an inclined intermediate portion projecting away from the bar 32, and the latter in connection with .the outer end and intermediate portions of the legs of the bar 31v providea pair of oppositely disposed pockets 34, 35 throughout the length of the posts to receive the outer sides of the corner panels of the outer sets. See Figure 1. The corner* post at the Each inside corner post consists `of an with the pairs of slots formed in the outside corner post. The pockets formed in the inside corner posts are indicated at 40, 41, to receive the outer sides of the corner panels of the inner sets, see Figure 1.
The form further includes .sets of standards of metallic material and one set associates With the outer Wall of the form and the other set With the inner Wall of the form. Each of the standards of the set has associated therewith an anchoring` .el-ement therefor which is also constructed of metallic material. Each'standard of each of the sets consists of a vertically disposed narrow me tallic bar 42 ofthe same height as the height of a Wall panel and which has secured to one side face thereof a plurality of inwardly extending spacedsupports 43 and each of the latter is in the form of a bracket consisting of a horizontally disposed arm 44 and a vertically disposed arm 43. The outer end of the arm 44 is fixedly secured to the bar 42 by the hold :tast devices 45. The inner end of the arm 44 terminates in the vertically disposed arm 43 andwhich is spaced n a substantial distance from the bar 42and L bracket 43.

Thebracing means or rather anchoring means for each standard consists of an an-` choring element 49 vvhich is secured-,in and projects above the 4ground and has connected to its projecting portion by hold fast devices 5() an upsta-nding inwardly inclined brace rod 51 Which at its upper end is connectedby the hold fast devices 52 to the upper end of the leg 47 of the bar 42, see Figure-3 and thearrangement of the brace or anchoring means is illustrated in dottedf lines. Further the arrangement of the brace or anchoring means for each of the standand each set extends froman outer to anv inner Wall-of the form and further extends across the cavity 3. The spanners of the set are detachably mounted in the Walls of the form-so that When the walls are knocked down, the spanners will be anchored Within the concrete body 21. Each spanner is refer-red to generally by the reference character 53, see Figure 6 andis formed ofan.

The form further includes Wire ties which associate with the sectional brace members 'or elementsto be presently referred to. The Wire ties are referred to generally by the reference character 56, see
Figure 5, 'andeach tie extends through a pair of alining slots 27 formed in the side posts and also through a` pair of alining slots 36 `formed in the corn-er posts.
The forml further includes a set of sectionalbrace members or elements. for the outer Wall of the form and a set of sectional brace members or elements for the-inner Wall of the form. The brace members `or elements of each set are arranged in superposed spaced relation and the' brace members yor elements Jfor the outerwall ofthe form are connected to the brace members or elements for 'the inner Wall of the form. through the medium of the Wire ties. The brace members or elements for the outer vvallotl the form are mounted upon the supportsor brackets 43 carried by the outer set of standards and the brace members or elements for the inner Wall of the form are mounted upon the supports or brackets 43 carried by the inner set of standards. See Figure 1 in this connection. Each outer brace member or element corresponds in contour to the contour ksections 58 arearranged at t-he corners of the form. The sections 57 are arranged at the side and ends of the form. The sections are connected togethervby cylindrical members 59 which are mounted in the opposed endsof thepair of sections and are secured therewith by holdfast devices 60. The tubular sections of the outer vset of brace members or elements, as well as the elbow-shaped section 581areadapted to extend through the outer ends 61jof th-e wire ties 56, see Figure 5, and the sections of the inner set of brace members are adapted to extend through the inner end 62 of the .wire ties 56. The wire ties employed at the corner of the form are of greater length than the ties arranged at the sides and ends of the forms but the ties are similar in construction, the only differfk ence being in the length as stated. The wire ties are of thetwisted type and are twisted to provide for the abutting of the brace members against the flanges of the side posts.
When the form is set up the panels'i eX- tend into the pockets 34, 35 and the panels 5 extend into the pockets 40, 4l, see Figure `l. The corner pieces, when the panels land 5 abut thereagainstprovide for setting up vthe inner andother corners of the concrete wall and said corner pieces form closures between the corner panels. The wall forming panels also extend into the pockets 26 formed by the side posts, see Figure l. The brace-members or elements abut against the corrugated plates 19.
'Ilie units of the form can be expeditiously assembled4 and retained in set position to provide for the wall cavity 3 to receive the concrete-body 21' and after the latter has been set, the wire ties are severed-so that the brace members or elements will be free thereof. The wire ties are embedded in the concrete body when the form is knocked down. The various units` of the form can beof any size desired. To insure from rust and concrete sticking to the units these lat-` ter may be moppedV or brushed with some cheap oil. The brace members or elements securely maintain the panels, side posts and corner posts in set position or rat-her in connection with the wire ties and spanners the shape of the forni is maintained and further held in such position by the standards andV anchoring means for these latter.
It is thought the many advantages of an all metal yconcrete form, in accordance with thisinvention, can ybe readily understood,
rand atlhough the preferred embodiment of outer side of said inner set, tie membersv for connecting said corner posts and brace elements together, tie members for connecting said brace elements and side posts together, spamier elements ,arranged between the said outer and inned posts and'supported thereby, and braced standards provided with supports for said bracing elements, said supports bearing against said panels.`

In a concrete wall form construction outer sets of metallic wall forming members, said sets disposed at right angles with respect to each other, inner sets of metallic wall farming panels, said inner sets disposed at right angles with respect to each other, metallic corner posts positioned between said outer sets, metallic corner posts positioned between said inner sets, side posts interposed in each of said sets and each Vprovided with oppositely disposed means for receiving a pair of panels, bracing elements ai'- ranged against the outer side of said outer set, bracing elements arranged between the outer side of said inner set, tie members for connecting said corner posts and brace elements together, tie members for connecting said brace elements and side posts together, Spanner elements arranged between the said outer and inner posts and supported thereby, braced standardsprovided with supportsy for said bracing elements, said supports bearing against said panels and each of said wall forming panels having a backing means therefor arranged on the outer side thereof.

In a concrete wall form construction, spaced outer and inner walls each consisting of a set of sidewise opposed removable wall forming panels` each provided with'a cor?v rugated backing andside and corner posts interposed between said panels, bracingelements positioned against the outervsides of each of said walls, and means extending.y
through said posts for tying said elements against said walls.

In a concrete wall form construction, spaced outer and inner walls each consisting of a set of sidewise opposed removable wall forming panels each provided with a corrugated backing and' sideA and corner posts interposed between said panels, bracing elements positioned against the outer sides of each of said walls, means extending through said posts for tying said elements against said walls, and spanners detachablyv mounted in said posts.

spaced outer and inner walls each consisting of a set/of sidewise opposed removable wall forming panels each provided with a corrugated backing land side and corner posts interposed between said panels, bracing elements positioned against the outer sides of each of said walls, means extending through said posts for tying said elements against said walls, spanners detachably. mounted in said posts, supports for said elements, standards carrying said supports, and combined bracing and anchoring means for the standards.
