In this construction there is no need to provide a distance tube such as 17 between the arms. i

Theconstruction shown in Figure 3 embodies, a gripping member similar toy that illustrated in Figure 2, but the main supporting bar 10 instead of having a bent end is carried by the free ends of a U-shaped frame 22 having intermediate of its length a bent rod23 for reception in a carrier. Such a carrier is illustrated in chain lines '7 at 24 in Figure 4 and this figure also shows one method of using the display device. As illustrated therein, the end of the article to be displayed may be threaded between the rod 18 and the main supporting bar 10, the rod being brought sufficiently near to the bar to afford efi lcient gripping of the article. After the latter has thus been threaded-in position the gripping member may be rotated about the bar 10 to wrap around it a sufficient length of the article to afford such amount of frictional grip as will prevent the article from falling out of position so long as rotation of the gripping member is prevented. The gripping member may be prevented 'from rotation by screwing'the nut 13 tightly againstihthus jamming the gripping member between the nutand the collar 12.. r The articlecan thusjhang freely and in natural fiat formation provided that a suitable width ofdisplay device is chosen,

The disc 25 carries a pin 29 which is adapted to besnapped into any one of a series of perforations 30 in the collar 12 and in this way the wrapping member can be maintainedin any desired setting about the bar 10.

In the construction shown in- Figure 7 the main supporting bar 10 is surrounded by a tube 31 which is located between its collar 12 and nut 13, with the interposition of a washer 32 if desired, and this tube 31 is slotted at 33 to permit of the insertion of prongs 34 into-position to have the bar 10 threaded through them. The prongs 34 are intended to obtain agrip upon the article to be displayed, and it will be appreciated that the prongs with the tube 31 can betrotated about the bar 10 to wrap a sufficient portion of the article to be displayed about thegoar, after which the nut 13 canbe tightene V Figure 8 also illustrates a construction embodving prongs for obtaining a grip upon the article to be displayed, but in this construction the prongs are formed by the sharpened out-turned ends of a strip 35 which is attached to the outside of a tube 2 36 through which the bar 10 is threaded.

The construction shown in Figure 9 follows the lines of that illustrated'in Figure '8 and preferably embodies serrations such as 39 and a pin such as 40 although these are not illustrated. The spring 37 is surrounded by a square tube 41 and the latter has slidably mounted upon it wires 42 which are bent and sharpened. to afford prongs.

The construction shown in Figure 10 is similar to that shown in Figure 7' save that it comprises in additiona rod 43 attached at its ends to slotted arms 44 and 45 through which the bar 10 is threaded. The rod 43, which, like the rod 14 for example, is adjustable to and from the bar 10, is intended to co-operate with the prongs 34 to grip the article to be displayed.
