IMPROVEMENT lN ORGAN REED-BOARDS.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 159,590, dated February 9, 18 5; application filed November 30, 1874.
To all whom it mny concern:
Be it known that I, J. R. LOMAS, of New Haven city and county, Connecticut, have invented an Improvement in Reed-Organs, of which the following is a specification:
The invention will first be fully described, and then pointed out in the claim.
Figure l is a horizontal, and Fig. 2 a verti cal, section. Fig. 3 is a plan view.
Arepresents a sounding-board; B, the reeds; E F, valves, and D a piece between sounding and valve boards. C is a partial set of reeds,
which I insert below the sounding-board, and which come within the length of the bass-reed valve. Thus I add to the treble as many reeds as can be supplied with air by this valve, thereby making no difference in the required touch of the keys.
What I claim is The combination, with a double reed-board mounted upon the sounding-board A, of the partial set of reeds C, inserted below said sounding-board, all constructed and arranged as and for the purpose specified.
