This invention relates toreceptacles especially adapted for receiving rollingy pins and the like while not in use. y
Briefly stated, an important object of the invention is to provide a receptacle of the character specified having simple means whereby a rolling pin is automatically locked in place within the receptacle upon its insertion therein and is `partly ejected from the receptacle upon the m-anual actuation of the locking means so as to permit of the complete manual removal of the rolling pin.
Another aim of the invention is to provide a receptacle of the class specified which is of highly simplified construction, neat in appearance, and cheap to manufacture.
Other'objects and advantages will be apparent during the course of the following description.

In the drawing, wherein for the purpose of illustration is shown a preferred embodiment of the invention, the numeral 5 designates an elongated casing which may be either rectangulary or cylindrical in cross:` section, and which may be installed or built in a kitchen cabinet, a wall, or other suport. p Secured to the forward end of the casingl 5 in any suitable manneris a face plate 6 adapted to extend beyond the sides of the casing and form a projection or flange 7 of rectangular formation extending entirely aboutI the casing. To one side of the flange 7 is hingedly connected, as indicated at 8, a door 9 for closing the front end of the casing. The opposite side of the flange 7 is provided with a slot 10 through which the outer terminal portion of a trigger or lever 12 slidably extends.
Figure 4 clearly illustrates that one side of the casing is grooved and slotted as indi-cated at 14 for the reception of the trgger 12 whereby the forward end of the trigber may engage the adjacent end of a rolling pin 15. Connected to the trigger 12 intermediate the ends thereof is one end of a coil spring 16, thel other end of the spring being connected to a stud pin 17 carried by one side wall of the cas-ing face plate 6. It will readily e seen that a constant outward pull will be exerted on the trigger 12 through the medium of the spring 16. It is desired to state atl this point that the rear wall of the slot 14 is in the path of travel of and is adapted to be engaged by the innerend of said locking lever to limit the inward longitudinal movement of said lever.
The trigger 12 is provided in the inner edge thereof with a notch having a straightv wall 18 and an inc-lined 'or beveled wall 20, which notch is adapted to receive a second stud pin 22 carried by one side wall of the casing.' The Voutward longitudinal movement of the trigger 12 `is limited by the straight wall 18 of the notch, while the inclined wall 20` serves as a means for removing the trigger from engagement with the adjacent end of the rollingpin 15 when the trigger is pushed inwardly by the operator. The rolling pin will also be. moved inwardly until the trigger 12 becomes dis engaged from the adjacent end thereof.
The notch of the trigger 12 .is held in firm engagement with the stud pin 22 by a curved leaf spring 25, the rear end of which is rigidly connected to one side wall of the casing through the medium of suitable fastening devices.
'all times` Rigidly secured to the bottom wall of the casing at the rear end thereof, as indim cated at 27, is a suitably stout coil spring 28 tapering toward its forward end. By reference to Figs. 3 and 4f, it will be seen that the spring 28 is adapted to encircle. the adjacent handle of the rolling pin 15 and engage and exert a constant outward pressure on the forward end of the rolling pin whereby the rolling pin is urged into constant engagement with the trigger 12. The Spring 28 also forms a means whereby the rolling pin 15 is ejected to partly exadjacent the l The spring 25 also holds the trigger 12 in the slotvlet at posed position upon the release of the trigger l2 where it may be conveniently grasped by ones hand.
