An e:-itoilet paper. pansible spring 22 encircles the red and is The prin ipal object of the invention reinterposed between the reduced p 'on of sides in a paper roll holder which permits the head and the end of the cylinder to northe roll of paper to be quickly applied or mally tend to force the head in the direction removed, and when applied", the same preof the opposed: braclret arm.

The arms 12 mou of p per hen the end of the ro l 45 are disposed in spaced relation and support iS given a sudden pull. As herebefore a roller 13. V stated, tension on the rollmay beadjusted One of the arms 12 is formed with an inby the operation of the set screw 28 whereby wardly extending boss 14:, the face of which the exact tension required may be mainis provided with a V-shaped notch 15, the taine'dh v 50 walls of which converge toward the bottom In attaching the device to the wall or of the notch for guiding one of the pintles other supporting structure, the attaching 16 of the roller into a seat 17; v plate 11 is provided with suitable openings The opposite bracket arm 12 is provided 30 for the passage of securing elements in with an outwardly extending cylinder 18 the nature of screws or the like. .55 disposed in axial alignment with the seat 17 In the drawing, I have shown a roller 13:
and in which a plunger 19 reciprocates. The whose opposite side walls are tapered from one end to the other for wedging engagement with the inner walls of a roll of paper and the said roller is provided with a longitudinal slot which reduces the weight of the roller. However, the roller may be perfectly round in cross section without departing from the spirit or" my invention.
When applying the roller, it is not necessary tooperate the lever as the trunnions are inserted in the notches and oo-act with the inclined walls which forces the yieldable hanger against the action of the spring until the trunnions reach their respective seats, at which time the spring moves the yieldable hanger to a locking position.
What is claimed as new is z a A holder for paper rolls comprising a frame having spaced outwardly extending brackets, a seat formed in one of said brackets, a movable member slidably mounted in the other of said brackets and having a seat therein disposed in axial alignment with the first mentioned seat, said movable member also having a slot therein, a roller adapted to receive the roll of paper and having trunnions on the ends thereoftor reception in said seats, spring means acting against said movable member for locking said trunnions in their respective seats and for placing a tension on said'roller, and manipulative means for actuating said movable member against the action of said spring means, said manipulative means including a pivoted lever, the free end of which extends into the slot in said movable member for engagement with the walls thereof and an adjusting screw co-acting with said lever for limiting the outward movement of said movable member.
In testimony whereof I have aflixed my signature.
