To all whom it may concern.-

' Be it known that LKATHRYN M. GON- NALLY, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Safety Guards for Earrings, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact descri tion.

y invention relates to mprovements in safety guards for ear rings, and it consists rangements herein described and claimed.

An object of my invention is to provide a guard that will serve to prevent the loss of the ear ring through the unintentional loosening .or breakage of the fastening means. The ordinary type of ear ring is provided witha screw clamp that is pressed into the lobe of the ear to hold the ear ring in place. It is not an uncommon occurrence for this clamp to become loosened and the ear ring lost without knowledge of the occurrence to the wearer.

A further object. of my invention is to provide a safety guard for ear rings which is practically invisible, since the greatest part of the guard is disposed behind the ear.

A'further object of my invention is to provide a. device of the character described that is-simple' in' construction, durable, and thorough] practical commercially.

From the foregoing descri tion of the various parts .of the device, t e operation thereof may be readily understood.
