Application filed August 13, 1923.
To all whom it may concern: I
Be it known that Pnnno V. ROSSATTI, subject of the Kingdom of Italy, residing at Montevideo, Uruguay, 1635 Rio Negro Street, has invented certain new and useful Improvements in Oil Burners, of which the following is a specification.
My invention refers to a new burner for oil and similar substances which works simply with air at a low pressure that is to say,
approximately at a pressure of one'hundred to three hundred mm. on the water level.
In the accompanying drawing my burner is shown in longitudinal section:
A is the rod of the needle which regulates the admission of the oil or other substance.
B is the conduit of admission of the said liquid which flows by natural gravity from a tank placed on a higher level.
C is the cone of discharge of the oil.
D is the conduit of admission of the air which is blown or injected by means of a forge fan of the common type.
E is the space where the oil coming out from cone C is atomized by the air current which carries it towards F the final point of discharge of the mixturefrom where the flame bursts out facilitated by the mixture obtained inside the cone.

rived therefrom as it does not require the use of steam or any other outside force for its working; the only outside appliance needed being a small electric fan. This makes possible the use of my burner not only in large plants but in the homes.
I claim as my own exclusive right:
An oil burner including a hollow body portion provided with coaxial upwardly and downwardly extending oil and air inlets, th oil inlet being of much smaller diameter than the air inlet, a tubular partition arranged in the body portion andhaving a frusto-conical valve seat arranged at an angle to the axis of said inlet, an oil nozzle detachably connected to said partition and having its interior communicating with the oil inlet, said nozzle having a frusto-conical outer surface and bore both tapered toward the outlet end of the nozzle, a mixing nozzle detachably connected to the body portion, surrounding the first mentioned nozzle and having a venturi-shaped bore, the outlet end of the first mentioned nozzle terminating adjacent to the throat of the venturi bore of the mixing nozzle, and a valve coaxial with said nozzles, adj ustably mounted in the Y body portion and having a conical end to engage saidvalve seat. j
