IMPROVEMENT IN BUCKLES. I
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 157,395, dated December 1, 1R74; application tiled August 5, 1874.
the buckle to the boot or shoe; and it consists in the combination with and application to a buckle of ordinary construction, of a twopronged plate, which is hung on the cross-bar of the buckle that carries the buckle-prong, and has its prongs shaped for easy insertion in the leather strap, and for then heilig bent toward each other, all as will hereinafter fully appear.
ln the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a face View of my improved buckle, and Fig. 2 a back View of my improved buckle attached to a strap.
In the drawings, A represents a buckleframe, and B the buckle-prong hung to the cross-bar mot' the buckle-traine; C, a plate hung to crossbar c. This plate C is made with two prongs, b b. (See Fig. 1.) The -plate C, hinged to prongs b b are for fastening the buckle to the strap, and they are shaped as shown in Fig. l, and, when inserted in the strap, are bent toward each other, (see Fig. 2,) and laid closely against the leather strap, anchoring' and fastening the buckle in position, and securing it against any possibility of detachnient.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The buckle-frame A, having the central cross-bar a., and the buckle-prong B, pivoted to said cross-bar, in combination with the said cross-bar a, and having the two prongs b b, as and vfor the object specified.
