Description

C. FBAZIER.
Rolling-Pins.
Patenfed Dec. 1,1874.
WITNESSES INVENTOR S W I m Attorneys UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES FRAZIER, OF PITTSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA.
IMPROVEMENT IN ROLLING-PINS.-
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 157,387, dated December 1, H574; application filed June 25, 1874.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, CHARLES FRAZIER, of Pittsburg, in the county of Allegheny and in the State of Pennsylvania, haveinvented cer tain new and useful Improvements in Rolling- Pins; and. do hereby declarethat thefollowin g is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings and to the letters of reference marked thereon, making a part of this specification.
The nature of my invention consists in the peculiar construction and arrangement of the devices hereinafter described, for forming a roller for dough, as will be hereinafter set forth.
In the annexed drawing, Figure l is a perspective view of my invention; and Fig. 2 is a section of one end of one roller, showing its connection with the casting.
. A A represent two rollers which are made of suitable size and material, and confined but a short distance apart in a metallic frame, 0. The frame 0 is cast in any ornamental shape, but is square, and has holes at its four corners, through which pass screws or bolts to confine it to the rollers A A and the stretchers B B. The rollers are parallel to each other, as seen. The stretchers are simply metallic or wooden bars, which lie between the frames 0 O at their upper ends, to give rigidity to the general roller-frame. The frames 0 0 have openings at a cast in them to form finger-holes, and just above these finger-holes the frame is so finished as to form a hand-piece or handpieces for operating the roller.
I am aware of the existence of the Letters Patent No. 132,736, granted to one W. 0. Pierce, and dated November 5, 1872, and hereby disclaim the invention therein patented, which shows a central handle for operating two parallel rollers.
By my construction of end castings I form an operatinghandle at each end of the rollers, and am thus enabled to more easily work the dough, and to work it more thoroughly and evenly.
WVhat I claim is In combination with the two rollers A A and the stretchers B B, the metal frames 0 C each forming a handle and each having fingenholes a a, and attached to the ends of the rollers and stretchers, as set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 12th day of June, 1874.
CHARLES FRAZIER.
