ORVIS W. VALLIER, OF EVATERTOWN, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR TO J'. B. WISE INCOR- PORATED, OF \VATE.RTOW1\I, NEW YORK, A CORPORATION OF NEW YORK.
ATTACHMENT FR SINK FAUGETS.
Application led February l2, 1925. Serial No. 8,783.
lle it known that l', Oni/.is lli. Vani/ruiz, a citizen ot the United States, residing,` at llratertowu, in the county olf Jefferson and State ot New York, have invented certain new and useiul In'iprovements in Attaehments t'or Sink Faucets, ot' whichthe tollowing is a specification.
This invention relates to a novel iorm ot soap holder 'for use with sinks and relates more particularly to means :lor supporting` the soap holder above the water valve Controlling handle and in back thereof and more speeilically to support the soap holder from the valve casing.
lli`iure 1 is a trent elevation ot an ordinary kitchen sink. Fig. 2 is a view partially in vertical section and partially in end ele- 'atioiu showing' means t'or mountingl a soaptray between the mixing-valve and the back ot the sink. Fig. 3 is a top-plan view oit the sink, showing' by full and dotted lines the swingable nature otl the spout.
ln the drawings, 2 represents `generally a mill-known type et kitchen sink eomprisini.)l the usual tray 2', the latter being provided with a waste outlet Afitting)` 2, and an upright portion 2l, which `generally engage a wall. as 2C. The back 2 is usually per- Vt'orated, as at 2, lior tacilitatingg` conductingr the supply ot water from the adjacent wall to the t'orward side of the sink.
The water supply iiXture includes a mixiugwalve comprising an upright hollow cylindrical body 3, from which radiate in opposite directions hollow arms 3-3, that coinu'lunicate with the lower interior portion o l the body. The remote ends ot said arms may be threaded into hollow globular heads ew-t. which respectively connect with the cold and hot water supply, byv means ot tail littinu's or pipes .fi-W, which pass rearwardly through the perforations 2d oi' the sink, and may connect in any suitable 1nanner with the cold and hot water pipes, as 656 (see Fig. 3).
rihe tail pipes 5 5 are each provided with medial hexag'on portions, for the use ot a wrench, and their forward ends are pretergitby fitted with gland nuts 5"',
'il he water discharges into a globular part d', troni which it Hows horizontally through. a spout 8a, to be discharged into the tray ot' the sink. The spout 8 may be rotated in the neck Se, tor direct-ing the stream ot' water to dili'erent portions of the sink tray.
Soap trays as a rule are not included in the water supply lixtures tor sinks, but as there a growing demand for such facilities l have provided novel and simple means tor supporting a soap container, Comprising an integral lug,` 18 which extends horizontally troni the rear side of the body 3 (see Figs. 2 and e The tree end ot this lug is pertorated to receive a vertically disposed rod 19, which may be held in the socket otl the lu by gravity, and may therefore be readily applied or removed. The top-end of the rod 19 formed with a rearwardly extended perforated arm 19 upon which is mounted an ordinary soap tray, as 20, the latter beingl detachably secured to 20. 3y this disposition 'and arrangement ot the partsy the tray 20 is positioned `between the body 3 and the back 2b ot the sink, within convenient reach ot the user of the faucet, and does not in any way interfere with the the operation ot the faucet. The lug;l 18 being disposed at the rear side ot the body 3 does not distigure nor interfere with thc ordinary handlingl all. ot the bodies 3 with the lugs 18 for soap trays.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim isk 1. The combination of a casing, hot and cold water supply pipes, valve means regulatingl the tlow through said pipes, a handle for operating` said valves means, and a soap holder mounted on the rear side oli' the casing.; and extendingA above the handle iu back thereof.
ln conibination with a sink, la valve iarrying` casing connected to the sink to support the casing` spaced from the back wall of the sink,a handle for operating the valve, a perforated lugr carried by the casingl and arranged in the space between the casing and the back wall of the sink, and a are preferably formed the optional use ot the ot the tting. In practice,
said arm by a screw Soap cau-rief having :L dependingrod removably engaged in the perforation of 'the lug.
3. In combination with a sink, a Valve 5 carrying casing connected to the sink to support the Casing spaced from the back Wall of the Sink, a handle for opepating the Valve,
d soap carrier, :i rod depending from the carrier lfind secured thereto, und means cai'- iied by the easing to support the rod between 10 the casing and the back Wall of the sink.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature.
ORVIS W. VALLIER.
